Chapter 16

1021 Words
Daniel was walking through the hospital listening to all the different noises. Hospitals used to give him such bad nightmares now He didn't care much for Them. When he was 16 Daniel had broken his arm so bad they had to do surgery on it to get it fixed correctly. Normally that is not needed when one had shifted, but because he had not shifted yet they had to do surgery. The good thing was he had only spent one day in the hospital. That one night though had caused him to have a really bad dream. In the he had woken up to someone who had come in. They were holding a drink in their hand and was trying to give it to him. He tried to refuse the drink because it didn't look like a normal drink. In fact it almost looked like blood. The person finally got him to drink it and the taste was so much worse than the look of it. He almost thought he had drank straight dirt. After that dream he had nightmares almost every night for a month. Daniel finally made it to Andrea's room, seeing Simon standing outside her door made him feel a lot better, even with them still being in a hospital. At least Anthony wanted her safe. Passing Simon Daniel sat in the chair next to Andrea. Daniel came to see Andrea every day and he would spend an hour with her. While he was there he would tell her about the weather, the pack members, the hospital staff or the hospital itself. he would also talk about her shop and what was happening to it. Daniel didn't know if that changed anything but he wanted to make sure she knew he was making sure she came home to a place that she could still find comfort in and not feel the fear she could have. He also vowed that when she woke up he would make sure she would never see what that man had done to the one place she loved more than Charlie and more than herself     "Hey Andrea," Daniel said taking her hand that didn't have any tubes coming from it. "Construction is going good, This time I have the making it so the stalls themselves can withstand a blast. Anthony is even making sure that you have a better booth just for you that will feel more like a second room rather than a booth. It's going to be farther in the back with a window looking out back and a bench to make it so you can sit there. You think he was going crazy with the protection he wants for you because he's putting in bullet proof windows." Daniel Chuckled, and then he became really sad "I miss you Andrea, I miss my friend. I wish that you were awake, I wish we could joke around again the way we used to." Daniel squeezed Andrea's hand and went quiet for a minute thinking of all the things that they used to do, and then about the moments before the blast "I hope that your mates death did not make you want to die too." Daniel said a tear falling down his cheek. After a minute of sitting there quietly Daniel started talking about what else was going on in hopes Andrea could hear and know that someone was there waiting for her to wake up.    Anthony had Charlie in the car with him as he raced to see Jazmine. Jazmine, well Jazz, was a well known witch who Anthony had helped out when she first came to their neck of the woods. The news he had gotten made him want to make sure she knew that if she was apart of this attack he would have no problem killing her. He didn't believe she was apart of it because of something she had said a while ago, but he also could not be blind sided in case she was involved. Pulling up to her little cabin on the outskirts of their territory Anthony could see her sitting on the bench outside her house. It was as if she was sitting outside waiting for him. Seeing him pull up she waved at him to come to her. The look told him everything he needed to know. Jazz was about 5 ft 6, taller than most witches he had met. She had hair that reminded him of a zebra, she always said she enjoyed not having the same things others had and her hair color was one of them. She was a beautiful black woman with green eyes that had you entranced once you looked into them. She was a soft spoken women but if she ever felt threatened she could speak volumes that made everyone listen. "Hello Anthony," Jazz said with a smooth tone "I know why you are here."      Anthony nodded his head and sat next to her "Is she my mate?" Anthony asked pain evident in his voice     "You know the answer to that and do not need me to verify this."     A tear ran down his face with relief of this confirmation "will she wake up?"      "Again you do not need the answer you already know."      "Can you tell me how many of us have been affected?"      Jazz took Anthony's hand and patted it "We will start today."      Another tear ran down his face "Will you be able to tell if other things had happened to my pack?" The squeeze from Jazz brought Anthonys tears to flood out like there was no tomorrow. When he finally calmed down he stood up and offered his other hand to help Jazz up "Shall we start with those in the hospital?" She took his hand and followed him to his car.      "There is someone already at the hospital that needs to be taken care of first." Jazz said as he got into the car. Anthony nodded his head and Drove off hoping they could fix the mess that had been started.
