The Unseen Mate

Chapter 15

    Anthony grabbed his head as it started to hurt from Andi trying to burst free. His body started to slowly shake as he fought for control with Andi, this was not the place or time for him to shift. 'Andi,' He cried out 'What are you doing?!' Andi did not seem to hear him. All he did was howl and bark causing more pressure to change. Dr. Bernard sounded very alarmed and scared as he was asking Anthony over and over again what was wrong. Anthony tried to talk to him, but he could only get two words out. "Lock down." Once the words left his mouth Andi took complete control and forced Anthony to change into a wolf. His bones cracking was deafening, he could barley hear the announcement of code red sound off through the hospital. Thankfully Dr. Bernard had run out of the room before the shift was over. Even though wolves worked really well with other people a forced change was different from a wanted change and that meant Dr. Bernard was in trouble to getting hurt. Once the change was complete Andi's demeanor changed, he calmed down as if he had not forced his way out. Staying silent Anthony watched as Andi slowly looked over at Andrea. Andi had seen her before, but the way he was acting now was as if he had never seen her before in his life. Now he was moving around from one side of the bed to the other to get a better look at her face. When Anthony could see Andrea's face with out any problems he finally understood what was going on. Andi sniffed Andrea's face, her scent was faint but it was there and it calmed Andi down even further. he sat down next to her and put his head on her shoulder, being careful to not touch any of the tubes that were coming from her body.  A silent whimper escaped Andi, and Anthony relaxed on trying to take back control. 

    Andrea was their mate. 

One month later

    Charlie was sitting in his bed in Anthony's office, his recover was amazing. Luckily the bastard who had shot him did not hit anything major and the blast only cause him to have a broken leg. The leg had been out of the cast for a week now, but he refused to leave Anthony's side. He could smell Andrea on him, and besides Daniel Anthony took Charlie to see Andrea every time he went. Andrea's health was getting better little by little everyday and that made Anthony a little more at ease. He still did not trust that she was safe even though she was in the hospital. So he had made sure that there was someone watching over her every day. The three people he had assigned did it in shifts to make sure that they did not get burnt out but to also allow them to stay sharp with what was going on. "Make sure you do not do shift change the same time every day," Anthony remembered asking the three men "Who ever did this has been watching us and I do not doubt that they still are." The men nodded their heads and left to figure out who would do what when. 

    Since the shop was still getting renovated, Daniel spent most of his days going and seeing Andrea. Anthony once walked in on him telling her what had happened to Martha or someone else who used to go to the shop and do school work. Anthony could tell that even if he didn't have the men watching her she would be in good hands because Daniel would literally give his life to keep her safe. He remembered the day he told Daniel what had happened in the hospital. Daniel was confused why there were people protecting her, he understood because of what had happened but he also felt there was another reason. "Your kidding me!" Daniel Gasped looking from Andrea to Anthony. Daniel had to mull it over for a little bit before smiling and slapping Anthony on the back "Welcome to the odd ball family man." Anthony had smiled at Daniel for the joke he used to make when him and Andrea started to hang out and told him thank you.  

    Charlie whined at Anthony, letting him know he was zoning out. "I'll take you to her after I get finished with one more meeting today." Anthony told him. Knowing full well that Charlie was missing Andrea just as much as he was. picking up the phone Anthony dialed the number to get Carlos and his Alpha. 

    "Hello, Alpha Anthony," Carlos said through the phone after the first ring.

    "Now Carlos, I've told you multiple times you can simply call me Anthony," he said in response, he'd been trying to break Carlos of this formality only to have him laugh and say it again just to piss him off.

    "Of course Alpha Anthony," Carlos said with laughter in his voice. "Alpha Maxwell is on the phone with us." 

    "Good Afternoon sir, I'm glad we could take this time to talk." Anthony said to Alpha Maxwell.

    "Me too, Carlos has been keeping me up with what has been going on." Maxwell said, His voice held a hint of worry that got Anthony's attention

    "Sir, is there something wrong?" Anthony asked stopping the niceties

    "Actually there is," Maxwell said, he then sighed and gave the news Anthony had been dreading to hear since they first started investigating what had happened at the shop "That man who blew up the shop, was not a wolf as we all suspected, he was something much worse." 

    "What do you mean?"    

    "He was a witch, and he's working with the hunter to eliminate wolves." Maxwell said the fear seeping into his voice "that's not the only thing," Maxwell started to sound angry "The witch found a way to hide wolves mates from them."
