The Unseen Mate

Chapter 11

    Andrea didn't realize how long she had been watching the stars till she could feel her body start to waiver a little. While trying to keep her eyes open a warm body curled up next to her. For the first time Andrea looked over at the other person who was sitting with her in the clearing. It was a grey wolf with black  paws and ears. His tail almost reminded Andrea of a raccoons tail, but it was detailed opposite with  a grey tip and random black stripes through the rest. Andreas wolf huffed a little fully looking at him. He was bigger than her but not in an intimidating way, it was more comforting to Andrea. 

    The huff made the wolf next to her look her in the eyes. Immediately her wolf started to howl in her head. Andrea could feel how excited she was. 'Whats going on?' Andrea asked Leila. Leila didn't answer she kept pushing to take over. Andrea let her. She watched through Leilas eyes as Leila licked the ear of the wolf next to them. she watched as Leila nuzzled her head under his and felt the warmth the other wolf gave off. It helped Andrea calm down and relax a little. 

    The wolf nudged both of them. He did it a couple of times until they both realized he was trying to get them to head back to the house. Andrea didn't want to leave she didn't know what would happen. she didn't know if she would be able to get to see again in human form. Knowing she would be able to in wolf form gave her hope, but this was all new to her and she hoped it meant that there was a brighter future for her. 

    She silently watched the wolf lead them to her room. He looked at the bed and back at her, understanding. Andrea shifted back to her human form. She watched as everything went from bright and colorful to completely black. Both Andrea and Leila whimpered, and Andrea got into bed. Closing her eyes she felt the bed dip a little and felt a light touch on her cheek from David as he kissed her good night. Feeling the bed get back to how it was she tried to reach out and grab his hand. Missing she spoke "Wait.." She didn't want to say it louder than a whisper. "... wait until I'm asleep?" The silence in the room made her wonder if he was already gone, but happiness coursed through her as she felt the bed dip again. This time on the opposite side of the bed. She could feel David brush her hair out of her face and continue to play it. The last thing she remembered before she fell asleep was the whisper of David telling her he would be back in the morning. 

    The next morning Andrea woke up to being alone in her room. She did notice one difference. There was a slight light shining through the darkness. It wasn't much but it allowed her to get to her window. 'I guess I'll only get to see when I'm in wolf form,' Andrea said to Leila, She could feel Leila nod her head and Andrea went to get dressed. A soft knock happened on the door. "Enter" she said knowing it was Daniel on the other side. 

    "You disappeared last night," Daniel said moving into the room "I wanted to make sure you were ok." 

    Andrea smiled in the direction of his voice and spoke "I learned something last night."

    "Oh?" Daniel said, he sounded excited for her

    "I can see when I'm in wolf form." Andrea said smiling at him

    "Get out!" Daniel said she could feel him grab her into a hud and kept her close. "That is amazing."   

    "But its only in wolf form and there's no saying how long until that goes away too." Andrea said drawing him into the reality of what was possible.

    "Still, getting to see once must have been amazing." Daniel said kissing her head "And its been so long since that has happened. I just bet you want to shift again.    

    Andrea smiled at Daniel and pushed away. "Leila and I are in agreement that we should only shift if absolutely necessary and only so we can see where we are going, just in case it is a temporary surprise." She heard Daniel make his normal agreement noise, and then decided to tell him the other good news. "Besides, I won't have to worry about being able to see if my mate does it for me." She was feeling the tags of her clothes that allowed her to tell if it was a shirt or pant she was grabbing.

    "Wait what!" Daniel asked joining her in the Closet.

    "I met him last night" Andrea said smiling to herself "I didn't get to see him in human form but his wolf is definitely interesting." She said smiling to herself remembering the tail his wolf had. "he looks like a backwards raccoon." She told him giving a giggle. Once again Daniel gave her a hug then pulled away. She could tell he was looking for a mark. 

    "He didn't claim you yet???" Daniel asked surprised. 

    "I think he wants to get to know me more before he does." Andrea said pulling out the outfit she wanted. Then went to her dresser to get a new bra and panties. "He did stay in my room until I had fallen asleep." 

    She could hear Daniel take a deep breath in her room then she heard him gasp "Him!" Daniel asked talking another deep breath "I thought he was a human!"    

    "Apparently not," Andrea said putting her clothes on her bed. "But he is and I need to take a shower. will you take Charlie out for me while I get ready?" Daniel agreed and walked away. Andrea felt content, but still wondered what would happen next. She had learned at a young age that just because things start to settle and go into place there is always something around the corner to test how that person could take the negative that was to come.
