Phoenix travel
1974 in a village named Okolori in AFOR Delta state where I lived with my parents, we were farmers and Fisher men but nothing was working, life was unhealthy no good road, one day my father Ananyi called me Oyem my son, I answered and he asked me, my son what's your plan for your future, I was quite for a moment and I replied I want to be educated and make impact in society and be a great man, he said believe it pray for it work it and get it,
I saved money and in 1975 August I left the house for another village Umutu. It was a long walk for days, I lived in umutu for 3 years in Ozegbe compound and fell in love with his daughter in 1977 and we both had a son Onyema
I got a job there after with a milk production company
The company and the Ozegbe family was very good to me and I stayed there for many years
As life led we left Umutu for warri
and got another job with geodetics company and later left them for the UK to further my education where I got my first degree I marketing and returned back to warri, continued with the same company
I was transferred to lagos and my son Onyema and his mother Gladys were coming to visit
years after I received a letter from a family friend in warri that a young girl wants to come for holidays in Lagos if I can allow her to stay at my place, I accepted
Ngozi came visiting for her holidays
and didn't go back.
we started dating, my father had about it and sent me a letter, we had a young lady is living with you?
I replied him , I want to marry her,
so I sent Ngozi home to see my family,
Ngozi traveled to Okolori but did visit my family, Her father wasn't't happy I kept her daughter without his knowledge.i sent a message to my younger brother Ralph to come
Ralph came to lagos and I gave some money to help see Ngozi's father not to be angry that I come to the village and do the marriage right and traditions.
December 1994 I decided to visit my son and his mother in warri , unfortunately he was involved in a domestic accident, he became better in January 1995.
in 1996 I carried him from the mother to live with me in Lagos
it was now time for Christmas celebrate in Lagos, first wiimy son and Ngozi.
As usual in every home, it's festive period of gifts,
Ngozi collected some money from me to buy Onyema a new shoe for the season
The shoe Ngozi got for my son were not new but second hand shoes, Onyema wasn't happy about it and refused to use it.
From that moment Ngozi didn't like his presence anymore, the home became a living hell for Onyema.
Ngozi tried everything she could to see that Onyema was out of the house,
One night as they were sitting at the boys quarters a big Snake came and spate at Ngozi eyes, she was blind for some weeks and later regained her sight,
several months past Ngozi called me and said Onyema stole her money, I didn't believe it because onyema can't steal, she pressed on with the story,
Onyema said one day as I left for work Ngozi called him and gave him some money to keep few minutes later her saw her sister coming out of his room his mind didn't go there because he wasn't expecting anything to happen to the money but as soon as her sister came out of his room she asked for the money to be returned and he did, She didn't complain of missing money to Onyema
This thing continued until 1998 when Onyema couldn't take anymore and decided to leave the house back to his mother in warri and later gained admission into the university in Edo state where he studied public admissions
Chris Oyem continued living with Ngozi for many years and her mother died.
Chris Oyem called Onyema, Ngozi's mother is dead I will not be attending the burial and as such I do not want you to attend as well, they call you don't go my son.
One after Chris Oyem became sick
and sent for his son Onyema, Prayed for him July 2024.
and died in October 2025
till his death Ngozi was never married to him or had a child for him.
