It was messy after Marrisa (Cassidy's mother) told her that the guy Cassidy had an affair with was her biological father. Cassidy's coping mechanism lacked depth. Instead of wanting to face the consequences, she tried to flee and change her identity, but then she was only a teenager, and she had no money nor choice but to face the problem at hand. The two families gathered to face their music. The emotions flowing around that day were worse than news about the death of a loved family member, and of course, cursing words, pointing fingers, blaming each other, and fainting at Kate's mom happened.
