Omega's Revenge

Serenity. "Werewolves?” Alan screamed at me. “Hush, keep your voice down,” I looked around and into the dim brightness of the evening, one more time, to ensure that no one eavesdropped on the conversation, “yes, Werewolves, and Vampires”, I whispered. “That is not true, the news said it is the mountain lions that are causing the deaths” Alan said as he whimpered in fear. He could tell I was right, no matter how absurd I sounded. “So, how do you explain this?” I held up my phone to his face to show him the picture of a silhouetted human wolf; a picture of myself I took the previous night. “No, that is a lie. I want to go home”, the look on his face was proof that he believed all that I told him. He walked paces away from me and turned around one last time to say, “Goodnight Fiona." “… shh. Did you hear that?” I heard the leaves in the bush behind me rustle. Alan had become so paranoid after I disclosed the dark secrets that lurked in the corners of Hay Cove town. “I do not like this Fiona.” He hurried away from me, away from the school gate, and into the quiet road that was graced with street-lights; where he felt safe. Alan and I had been friends for a year. We always hung out with each other after the school dismissed to discuss and share good times together, but it all ended that night. “Goodnight Alan” I screamed so he could hear me. My voice echoed into the night and it disrupted the silence in the school. The evening grew darker in a few minutes and the bluish-purple clouds that roofed Hay Cove dispersed to revealed the full moon that prowled behind them. The silence thickened making it easier to hear the leaves that rustled behind me, again. “Who is there?” I asked without turning back to see whatever creature hid in the shadows, “Reveal yourself!” I said when I was replied with silence. I walked away with a smirk on my face knowing that whatever it was could not harm me. It was the full moon after all. “Fiona Luigi!” a voice thundered from the darkness. It was the voice of Brad Fronde, the Alpha of the Gufronde pack, “Yes, Alpha?” I replied, still not looking back. “When will you do it?” I sensed Brad emerge from the bushes. “Tonight”, I fumed as I replied. “You better”, he said before he disappeared into the night, leaving a thick wisp of smoke behind. The clouds parted further and left the moon suspended on the sky. It was bigger than it was on the last full moon. My hairs on my skin sprouted into a fur that engulfed my whole body, my brown eyes turned yellow, my dentition animated into fangs, slowly and sharpening itself as I howled. The rest of my human body carefully morphed into that of a wolf, my bones cracking to fit my all-four stance. It was a full moon on an October, the month that the werewolves were granted permission by higher powers to wreak havoc on wherever we wanted to. That October, I chose Hay cove because I needed to enact revenge on a certain family. Alan must have heard the howl because he hastened his slow steps into a sprint as he prowled on the lonely road to his house. I howled one more time before I began the chase. I ran, a wolf, toward the school’s gate and toward the street that Alan plied. I could hear his shriek after, I saw him through my sharp vision run faster when he looked back at me, the wolf chasing behind him. We were meters away but I caught up to him in no time and quickly transformed to my human self. Overpowering him and pinning him down, I looked down on him and he looked at me. My fangs were bare and my throat let out a growly roar as I stared at him, his face returned my face's favor. A look of disbelief and disgust splattered across Alan's face. I understood his fear; his best friend sat unclothed on top of him. Might have been the first time a naked girl ever sat on him. “Francis? What… what are you doing?” he whimpered as he sobbed. I looked into his eyes and saw fear, pain, anger, and hatred for me. “What I have always wanted to do” I growled as my teeth sharpened and my eye turned yellow. “What are you?” he cried out his last words. “A monster” I roared gruffly before I sunk my fangs into his throat and ripped the useful parts of his neck out. I dug again into his neck and ate at it again. I continued the ritual until he was just bones, blood and intestines lying on the sidewalk. I howled into the night, drenched in the blood of my best friend as a teardrop escaped my yellow eyes. A hundred other wolves from the Gufronde pack, made invisible by the shadows, howled back. Brad appeared behind me and walked slowly toward me. “What have you done?” he asked. “Revenge!” “You were supposed to kill his father not him.” “I will kill them all” I said, anger pulsing through my body. “You have no idea what you have just done." “What did I do?” Brad was the most fearless werewolf I had ever met so when I detected the fear in his voice as he spoke, I paused and let my anger calm. “You have incurred the wrath of the most dangerous hunter family on us” Brad was calm as he spoke, “You have brought hell to our doorstep." I quickly transformed to my human form. "What do you mean?” I asked as my bones cracked. “I really hope you are strong enough to fight off what is coming your way.” “Our way” I growled, hoping he would support me. “No! your way. You are no longer a part of the Gufronde pack." Brad disappeared into the night. I stood under the October moon, confused, angry, scared, drenched in blood, naked, and wild. Truly, I had no idea I was in for.
