Rules of the Game
One evening after dinner, two months after he had returned from his two week trip, Manny informed Linda that he had something of importance to discuss and told her to come into the living room. He seated himself in his favorite easy chair while she knelt on the floor at his feet.
Then he began speaking, “I have to go on another trip. This one will be a long one. It could be as long as three months.” He paused here, letting the news sink in. Linda’s eyes teared up as she faced the prospect of a long separation, the longest by far in the entire period of their relationship.
Then he continued, “Do you remember when I came home from my last trip, and I told you you had been such a good girl, that you would only get a mild spanking?”
“Yes, sir, I remember.
