Elite Female Warrior Rescues Tranquil Young Man
"Blood dripped from Silver Geng's right hand onto the snowy ground, and the man he was dragging with his left hand was kneeling and sliding, leaving two long streaks of blood. The blood streaks spread to a semi-circular snowdrift, and Silver Geng kicked the snowdrift hard. Snowflakes fell on the kneeling man, and as the snow fell, a hidden door gradually became visible. Silver Geng tossed the man to the side of the door, a man with tattered clothes and barely clinging to life. The man tremblingly placed his hand on the identification device. *Drip* - the door opened. Entering the door led to a staircase that descended almost vertically. Although the snowdrift outside the door was only waist-high, the space inside was surprisingly spacious. Silver Geng pushed the man, and he tumbled down the stairs like a log. After a few steps, he finally saw Andrew, who was tied to a chair. The sudden opening of the door let the glaring sunlight in. Andrew furrowed his brow and shielded his eyes against the bright light. As he saw Silver Geng descending the stairs, it was as if he had been struck by a blinding beam of light. Silver Geng took large strides, not in a hurry but quick, and approached Andrew. She quickly untied him and leaned against the chair, tilting her body behind him. "Boss, don't worry. I'll take you back." "Okay," he spoke softly, with a clear tone, appearing much younger than he seemed. Silver Geng nodded, raising her eyes to observe him carefully. While Andrew looked frail and dazed, he didn't seem unintelligent. It was evident that he knew he was sent by Qi Lanye. Life would be difficult with a foolish leader, after all. Andrew stood up, brushed the dust off himself, and then walked steadily toward the small spacecraft Silver Geng had arrived in. She followed, not forgetting to slip a supply capsule to the man who had been tied up, and then threw him into the cargo hold. "Boss, we're expected to return from Aridium Star to Parsi in two days," she said, winking as she spoke. It was a stark contrast to her previous actions when she had fought the man viciously. When it came to work, Silver Geng was not one to be overly strict or serious. Being a bodyguard didn't mean you had to be silent and stoic. She spent half her day pretending, and she had a reputation to maintain. Why not enjoy herself a bit? Moreover, this boss was a perfect fit for Silver Geng's quirks, and they even made quite a visually appealing pair! Who wouldn't want to exploit such an advantage? After two days, Parsi, Headquarters. Andrew went back to his room to freshen up, and Qi Lanye came with Eric. 02 While Qi Lanye met with Andrew, Eric playfully nudged Silver Geng's arm and asked, "What's our boss like? Is he as strict as the Commander?" Silver Geng grinned and replied, "Not at all, he's quite easygoing. He says what needs to be said, and there's not much else. He's not a micro-manager." It was clear that having fewer responsibilities suited the two junior employees just fine, and Eric relaxed, relieved. They quietly communicated for a while, and then Qi Lanye summoned them inside. "Your task is to protect Andrew from now on. Besides his time at the headquarters during the night, from 8 AM to 2 PM, and from 2 PM to 8 PM, you'll be on duty. Andrew will provide specific instructions. Also, Silver Geng, you've done well. Take the next two days off," Qi Lanye said. Silver Geng expressed her gratitude. She thought being a bodyguard for the Commander's brother wasn't too demanding - six hours of work a day, business trips with compensation, and even time off. It was a good balance, and the pay was quite lucrative. The Commander wasn't a cheapskate, after all. Silver Geng lazily returned to her small room, kicked off her boots haphazardly, and collapsed onto the bed. The room had been arranged by Qi Lanye's assistant and was pre-paid for three months. Although it was simple, it included a bedroom, living room, balcony, bathroom, and kitchen - everything she needed. The room was cluttered and gave off a sense of chaos, despite wearing different uniforms for work. There were quite a few colorful outfits in her wardrobe. Silver Geng lounged for a while, then picked up a bottle of alcohol from the refrigerator, grabbed a tall glass from the bedside table for easy access, and adjusted the slightly tilted photo frame. She let her braided hair down for convenience, changing from her combat outfit to a loose-fitting tank top. She tucked her long and curly jet-black hair under the bed, sat back, and started a holographic projection to watch a live broadcast of her idol, Ji En. The entertainment industry in Parsi was a significant sector within the Federation, and the idol business was flourishing. Ji En, the face of the SD group, was the current hot sensation, a rising star on every holographic projection. Silver Geng had become a fan since she recently started watching holographic projections. However, today Ji En didn't seem to be broadcasting, and instead, the other four members of SD were singing and dancing. The barrage of messages that flew by was all asking, "Where's Ji En?" and "Did Ji En have other arrangements today?" Silver Geng stretched and noticed that Ji En was absent from the broadcast today, but she wasn't aware of his three-day disappearance. "Missing for three days? I only knew he didn't appear in today's broadcast," she replied. Andrew seemed surprised that she watched these broadcasts. As Silver Geng moved from her co-pilot seat to sit next to Andrew, he said, "Commander's already dispatched an A-rank military team for the search. Apart from the final image, they have no leads. They're relying on Andrew's resonant tracker. Andrew is amazing!" Risoxi Star, often abbreviated as R-Star, was frequently mentioned as R-Star. "Uncle Yas..." "Okay, Uncle won't say anything more. You two chat. Hahaha," accompanying Yas's laughter, Silver Geng began to observe Andrew curiously. He had a mysterious air about him. Andrew felt Silver Geng's bright eyes on him and was initially uncomfortable but quickly adapted to her non-threatening gaze. "Boss, you're staring at me. Do you want me to braid your hair for you? I'd be happy to help," she joked, reaching out to touch Andrew's hair, especially the bangs that were falling over his forehead. These were ideal for creating tiny braids. Her hand hadn't quite reached him yet, and she saw Andrew's ears turning red. Silver Geng smiled and retracted her hand playfully, adjusting her own braids. She let her thoughts drift to the resonant tracker but decided not to ask. Instead, she picked up a cigarette and headed to the balcony. Before she could light it, the communication device chimed. After three chimes, it automatically accepted the call. It was an urgent message from Commander Qi Lanye. Silver Geng frowned, as her break had only lasted two hours. The capitalists couldn't handle compliments, it seemed. "Andrew has a mission and needs you to go with him. Get ready for combat quickly," the message read. Silver Geng sighed, took off her loose tank top, threw it into the cleaning capsule, and donned her fresh combat uniform. She secured the resonant whip and drew open the curtains to find the small aircraft dispatched by Headquarters waiting outside her window. She had already become proficient at using these aircraft for missions, especially when she had to rescue Andrew earlier. Just as she boarded the co-pilot seat, Silver Geng was surprised to see Andrew already inside. "Boss, are you working overtime too?" She thought she would have to find him the next day. Silver Geng knew that Qi Lanye was quite protective of Andrew. She felt this during her brief visit earlier in the day. However, it seemed that Andrew had some grievances regarding the Commander, which made Silver Geng wonder why he was being sent to work late at night. "Miss Silver Geng," Andrew began to speak, but the driver interrupted her. "The Commander said that this search and rescue mission for Andrew is crucial. Please ensure Andrew's safety." Silver Geng nodded. Andrew then turned to her and said, "Do you know Ji En? He's been missing for three days." "Missing for three days? I only knew he didn't appear in today's broadcast..." "Headquarters has dispatched an A-rank military team for the search. Apart from the final image, they have no leads. They're relying on my resonant tracker. We're going to R-Star, and they need me to calibrate it." Silver Geng raised an eyebrow. "Resonant tracker?" Andrew looked at her, his fingers twitching, seemingly unsure how to communicate. After a moment, he replied, "Yes." The enthusiastic and lively voice of the driver, Yas, came back. "The surveillance from the Interstellar Border Control showed that he entered R-Star, and then he disappeared completely. They're counting on Andrew's resonant tracker for this search. Andrew, you're truly amazing!" Silver Geng was curious about the resonant tracker but decided to ask later. She continued with her playful tone, "Boss, you've been looking at me like you want me to braid your hair. I can help you with that, you know." While her thoughts still lingered on the resonant tracker, Silver Geng held her hand out, ready to touch his hair. However, she noticed Andrew's ear turn bright red. With a smile, she retracted her hand playfully, adjusted her braids, and leaned back against her chair.
