Chapter FifteenAn hour or so goes by in the blink of an eye, a glance at the clock tells me I have about 30 minutes before Jess wakes from her afternoon nap. I slither out of bed and head for the shower, excited for what’s to come. Even though I haven’t heard or seen Myles since the night before, I lock the bathroom door to guarantee my privacy. Under normal circumstances, I would welcome his spectating with open arms and legs during my weekend shower m**********n ritual, but not today. We’ve crossed into unknown, angered and awkward territory, and I’m not sure when or if that point where we both can start to laugh it off will be reached. It feels so unnatural to go almost 24 hours without any sort of contact, and it’s becoming apparent that our argument will roll straight into tomorrow.
