I trailed my fingers along the surface of Lake Osiris, staring into its depths. Small lines of ice traced the surface, creating intricate designs.
Sighing, I pulled my hand away and stood up, wiping dirt from my clothes.
It had already been a week since Lux departed, and so far there wasn’t a single word. No one knew if they arrived at the Mana Mountains safely. No one knew if they had run into trouble. Only deafening silence greeted each and every one of us.
Although it seemed like a dire situation, I believed in my heart of hearts that if something did in fact happen to Lux, then I would feel it through the mate bond. Since all seemed calm, I felt that everything was okay and they were just too busy to check in. Not like they promised to in the end anyway.
