Julia started the car as soon as Prudence had joined them, driving slower than usual as she pondered on what had transpired inside Evergreen Park. Her mother seemed so familiar with Riley and his father, treating them with so much care and attention and this was not just because Riley was so prepossessing; the boy was surely goodlooking and charming but that could not have been the reason why Prudence was smitten with him. Besides, Prudence had addressed Riley's father by his first name so casually like she knew him from way before and this was a clue that something was fishy.
