Ami woke up with a slight headache and her mum banging at her door at first she wanted to ignore but then she remembered that they had to enroll her in a new school today , checking the small alarm clock at her bedside she was shocked ,she had never slept so long ,standing abruptly she unlocked the door and of course her mum was already dressed and had her 'dont tell me you forgot' eyes, Even though she saw a twinkle of a smile playing at her lips she knew she was done for

"mum am so sorry"

"you had better be "

"I'll just take a shower and I'll be down in a jiffy"

"wait a minute Ami Winters "

"yes mum"Ami said stopping in her tracks

"do you know how much I love you"her mum said with a broad smile that touched Ami's heart ever so gently

"yes you've told me so many times"

"like the sands of the sea and the stars in the sky that's just how much I love you and will always love you"both of them said in unison laughing and grinning like old times ,Ami ran up to her mum and gave her a big hug ,she couldn't remember the last time they actually hugged it must have been a very long time ago

"alright alright now go have that shower now cause you stink"she joked "ok mum just know I love you too"

she gave her mum another hug before datching into the bathroom to take her bath .

Ami was down in no time and had to skip breakfast ,she hurried into her mom's car and they drove away , her mum drove for about ten minutes, following maps and instincts before finally getting to the school, on arrival ,Ami jumped out of the car ,telling her mum to hurry because she hated being late.The school was really big but looked rather older than it did in the pictures ,it had high walls and beautiful flowers at the front ,she wouldn't say she was amazed by it but it gave her a feeling of peace as if she belonged there ,as she followed her mum inside she felt something watching her she looked around but they was no one not even a CCTV camera ,it felt strange because all the school she had attended always had a survelliance camera or something like that but still she felt safe ,she looked at her mum to see if she felt it too but it seemed her mum was lost in reading the school map she held ,they passed through Halls of class rooms and she tried not to look into any of them Even though she felt them staring at her ,her mum finanly found the principal's office and just as they were about to enter ,she looked back at her

"Ami are you alright"

"yes mum just a little nervous that's all "

"alright dear you can wait here while I sign the paper work ,I will call you when you're needed"

"thanks mum and I think I need to go to the bathroom,but I won't be long"

"that's alright just make sure you don't get lost " her mum said as she handed over the maps to her then went inside the office,Ami heard her mum's greeting as she walked away from the office ,she tried using the map to find her way but it felt almost impossible so she kept it aside and let her instincts guide her ,she rounded up at a corner and she could swear she saw something ,she could almost hear it too and she felt it's heart beating to a rythm she liked , and as she walked closer to it the sound became more clear , it was something and it was sobbing and crying in a very odd manner she wanted to stay away but it kept pulling at her ,calling her to help ,she reached a metal gate and she was sure it was in there" maybe it could just be a dog" she said to herself, but just as she was about to reach out and see ,she heard her name being called and she was struck with reality ,her mum must have been looking for her and indeed as she followed the sound of her mom's voice , through the hall she spotted her but she was with another woman , obviously the principal of the school

"mum"she called out, running to meet her mum and as she got close enough she held her mom's hand

"I guess I got lost"

"miss Winters good day am vannier zelch the principal of valley high your mom told me alot about you"she said to Ami ,but Ami was still too shocked to reply so just nodded and smiled at her "and next time if you need something just ask Marietta"

"who's Marrietta"

"shes the hall monitor, she told us you passed her but didn't ask anything so she thought u knew your way around,silly her right"

"but I didn't see anyone"

"oh darling Marrietta is always there" she said ,pointing to a desk that was just feets away from them ,Ami didn't see that there infact there was no desk there when she passed ,she looked at the woman who seemed to be in her late forty's or so ,but she was pretty with perfect blonde hair and blue eyes just like she had and they was a sense of recognition she felt when she looked at her

"that wasn't there when I passed"

"Ami enough of this ,you just need to sign the forms then we can go home"her mum said in a rather dismissing tone, the one she used anytime she wanted to end their argument

"that's alright Mrs Winters"the principal said ,as she led them back to her office Ami kept looking at Marrietta all the while till they passed the hall into the principal's office ,she signed the forms just like her mum asked her to and they baded the principal goodbye before they left .
