Chapter 1: Colliding with Mr CEO
“Oh my God, that’s Adrian Westwood, the CEO of Westwood Group!” a lady’s voice screamed, and almost instantly, people began to gather as Adrian’s car rolled into the compound of the Crystal Hotel.
The sound of his tyres screeched sharply against the marble floor, echoing through the grand space. Heads turned, and phones raised in a rush to capture him.
Adrian smirked as he brought the car to a halt, noticing the way the crowd pushed closer. Some were already recording videos, others were shouting his name, and many were simply staring at him in awe.
He stepped out, tall and confident, adjusting his tailored suit with a calm hand. He brushed his fingers briefly through his neatly cut hair, making sure it was in perfect place.
Adrian Westwood was the billionaire CEO of Westwood Group, a man who owned several companies, industries, and luxury estates. He was young and successful, he was the kind of figure everyone knew. His name carried weight, and his presence commanded respect without effort
At once, the guards standing at the grand entrance of the hotel bowed respectfully, while the crowd tried to rush toward him, screaming and blushing.
Adrian gave a small wave to the guards. Immediately, some hotel bodyguards noticed the crowd pressing in too closely, so they hurried to his side, pushing people back to clear the way for him.
His own bodyguards could have done more, but Adrian had told them back at the company that he wanted to come alone. That was why none of them had followed him, not even his driver.
Followed by his bodyguards, he strode into the hotel with effortless majesty.
The hotel dazzled like a palace, the marble floors gleamed so brightly they reflected the lights above. A chandelier covered in crystals sparkled like falling stars, and soft classical music floated through the air, making the entire place breathe wealth and power.
At the reception, the staff froze the moment he approached. their Eyes were widened, their uniforms were adjusted, and their backs straightened nervously.
He stopped in front of them and spoke, his voice was firm and commanding. “ Do you have the VIP room ready?.”
“Yes, sir!” one receptionist replied immediately, almost tripping over her words. Her fingers flew across the keyboard until she finally pulled out a key card. Her hand trembled slightly as she passed it to him.
“Here you go, sir.”
At that, Adrian took the card key from her and gave a short nod.
Right then, the hotel manager appeared, hurrying down the stairs. When she reached Adrian, she bowed deeply and smiled. “Welcome, Mr. Westwood.”
Adrian shook her hand with a slight smile, but before she could say more, his phone rang. He gave a small wave and said, “Just a second.”
Adrian shook her hand with a slight smile, but before she could say more, his phone rang. He lifted a hand lightly and said, “Just a second.”
The manager smiled, bowed again, and walked back to the receptionist’s desk.
Then Adrian slid his phone out from his pocket and answered the call.
At that moment, Sierra, a young lady in a neat waiter’s uniform, stepped out of the hallway carrying a tray with a single glass of red wine. Her eyes stayed fixed nervously on the glass—it was her first day on the job, and she wanted everything to be perfect.
She didn’t look up to see who was walking towards her. Adrian, too distracted by the call he was receiving also didn’t pay attention then boom! They collided.
The tray slipped from Sierra’s hands, sending the glass crashing into Adrian spilling dark red wine across his expensive suit jacket.
With this, Gasps filled the lobby. immediately Sierra’s heart stopped. She looked up slowly, and her eyes locked with Adrian’s cold gaze.
Her breath caught in her throat when she realized it was Adrian. The Mr CEO she had only ever seen on TV, the man everyone admired and feared. And now, on her very first time seeing him in person, she had poured wine all over him and caused an embarrassing scene.
“Oh my God!” she whispered, with her voice breaking in panic.
Immediately, Adrian looked down at her, his expression was dark, then he muttered in a cold voice, “ are you insane?”
Sierra bowed her head, trembling. “I—I’m sorry, sir. I didn’t mea...…”
But before she could finish, Adrian shrugged off his suit jacket, dropped it roughly into her hands and said angrily,
“Get it cleaned and bring it to my room.”
His words were sharp, leaving no space for argument. Then he turned and walked away, ignoring the shocked stares around him.
Sierra stood frozen, clutching the jacket tightly, her face burning with shame.
Just then, The hotel manager stormed toward her. Without hesitation, she slapped her across the cheek, the sound cracking through the lobby.
“How dare you ruin Mr. Westwood’s clothes!” she shouted, with her face red with anger.
“Do you know what you’ve done? You wretched girl! This is your first day at work and already you are causing trouble. Now, go and clean it immediately, and apologise to him, or you’ll lose your job.”
Sierra’s eyes filled with tears. She clutched the jacket against her chest and whispered, “I’m sorry.” Then, she turned and hurried away toward the staff exit.
Her footsteps echoed through the hallway as she rushed toward the bathroom.
Inside, a few female staff stood in front of the mirror, reapplying makeup. Their eyes immediately fell on the jacket in her hand as she entered.
Immediately, One of them scoffed and walked up to her. “Hmm… isn’t that Mr. Westwood’s jacket? Did you steal it?” she asked mockingly.
Another snatched at the jacket with a smirk and uttered. “Of course she did. Do you know how much this is worth? Maybe she wants to make money from it.”
Sierra’s frustration boiled over. She jerked the jacket back, and muttered with her voice rising. “Don’t talk to me like that, okay? I didn’t steal his jacket, I accidentally spilled wine on him, and he asked me to clean it.”
The ladies froze for a moment, and burst into mocking laughter.
“You spilled wine on Mr. Westwood?” one said in disbelief. “Do you know who he is?”
The other chuckled. “Nobody messes with Mr. Westwood. Just know you’ll regret this.”
With that, they burst into another fit of laughter and walked out, their voices echoing down the corridor and leaving Sierra trembling.
Sierra turned to the sink and switched on the tap. Her hands shook as she tried to wash the stain. Cold water splashed her fingers, but her mind was far from calm.
Regret? What did they mean by that? she wondered.
Just then, the manager’s warning echoed in her head: If you don’t fix this, you’ll lose your job.
At once, she wrung the jacket gently, staring at her reflection in the mirror.
“What will happen when I face him again?” she thought to herself
She then let out a shaky breath, clutching Adrian’s jacket tightly, with her eyes still on the mirror, dreading the moment she would have to return it.
