Chapter one, part 1: Carpe Diem, Right?
In an office room of a big tree house behind a large oak wooden desk in a big faux leather swivel office chair sits a brown-skinned girl with thick brown back-length curly hair put in butterfly locs, she wears a black sleeveless turtleneck cropped top with a dark brown oversize aviator jacket random pin brooches on it, black leggings, dark brown leather lace up boots, and a racoon faux fur hat. She sits on the chair a basket of cheese fries in her hands as she eats one by one, to the left of her, in a separate, similar office chair, leaning back and throwing darts across the room at a dart board. He is a pale-skinned, black-haired, tall and lanky boy. He was wearing a Gorillaz band t-shirt with a black hoodie over it, a pair of army cargo pants, and black converse sneakers. The boy tilts his head back and groans loudly,“ ugh! This is sooo boring, when are we gonna get a call to capture some creature or whatever, I wanna get paid and I wanna have some fun”. A similar appearance to the other boy pipes up. He was wearing a plain white t-shirt with a yellow flannel over it, ripped blue jeans, white converse shoes with a drawn sun-design over them, with a chuckle. He looks up from his laptop.“ Well to be fair, Tobias, they don’t come out until like late at night and right now the sun is only just going down”. The other boy, now known as Tobias, makes another groan and sits back up in his chair, slumping over as he does so,” but it is soooo boring Matt, what do you think, Niobe?” he says, looking over at the girl behind the desk. The girl known as Niobe looks up from her cheese fries and swallows quickly before answering, “Well hey maybe we’ll-”. She is then cut off with a ring from her phone. She then picks it up and answers it, "yellow!” she answers enthusiastically, only to be met with the yelling of an older woman in distress.
After a few minutes without talking and a few "uh-huhs" here and there, she finally says “okay, we’ll be right there ma’am, and you can pay us directly after the job is done!”. She then hangs up and looks excitedly at the boys. “ Hey guys, we got one, so grab your gear and the book and let’s go! ", she then stands up. Throwing away the cheese fries basket and grabbing a dart gun from a cabinet and a black backpack, equipped with a rope, a flashlight, and a pair of binoculars, while the other two boys grab similar backpacks with different things, and Tobias grabs a metal bat, while Matt grab puts away his laptop and grabs and ax, and adds with a concerned tone“ uh Niobe, do we even know what kind of entity where dealing with this time?” Niobe looks at him blankly before just shrugging her shoulders“ carpe diem, right? , Seize the day, we may not know what it is, but it is our sworn duty to fend it off, besides we have the journal, and it can probably tell us” she says nonchalantly, Matt still looking slightly concerned just nods at her before grabbing a satchel and swinging it over his shoulder along with his backpack as he walks out of the office door, with Clyde and Niobe following behind.
