The day after returning to camp Wolf finally had an hour to himself after supper and went up the side of a hill just a short ways into the forest, where he found a comfortable lichen covered rock to sit on. He reached into his tunic and pulled out the thin leather-wrapped package that Maud had given him and carefully untied the twine binding it. Pulling back the leather flaps he found a folded paper and opened it up to read. It had been penned on both sides and the writing was neat and small and looked to have been written with a feather quill. It took Wolf a couple of minutes to adjust to the fine handwriting.
