The Lion, Wolf, and Shadow entered the Great Hall to find the rest of the pages along with the Raven and Lady Jane waiting for them. Wolf walked over to Wart and Sally, "You won't believe the basement of this place. It is full of tunnels and there are all kinds of storerooms and a prison. I found Oscar."
"There are passageways through all the walls," Sally said. "I bet they hook up."
"It must have taken years to dig the tunnels," Wart said. "This castle is built on solid rock."
"The Lion and his ancestors have had a lot of time to dig them," Wolf said, "at least eight hundred years."
"How do you know that? Wart asked."
"Because a real castle is at least that old," Sally answered. "I bet the Lion is a least half that old."
