"Give me the keys to my car!!!" iris shouted,"I wont give you the key to the car still you tell me where you're going to,you've been behaving suspicious lately and you haven't even answered my question,who is Alex?" chris argued. One would have thought it was a newly wedded couple having their normal arguments,it was something that had been happening for the past 8 years. Mr Chris has been married to Mrs Iris for the past 10 years and they had a lovely daughter Natasha they lived In the city of Lagos on the main land,she was 8 years of age.The first 2 years of the marriage was such a blissful union,love was the bedrock of the marriage and they lived happily,but just like the strick of lightning everything got bad,peace was a strange word in the house. Chris was a billionaire that owned several companies and his wife Iris had a fashion house,they gave Natasha the best life but with the constant quarrels and arguments and fights Natasha grew up with fear,loneliness and doubts.Her parents were so busy that they barely spent time with her even though they gave her everything,she spent most of her time with her nanny Caroline.when will this fight end Natasha asked herself always. Natasha was enrolled in one of the best schools in the city,she was introverted and bullied most time's,"hey come here you little mosquito,do know who I am?" Elvis the class bully ordered Natasha,"I finished all my snacks today Elvis, I'd bring yours tomorrow I promise please don't hurt me" Natasha replied trembling. Henry a friend to Elvis lifted up his hand to slap the soft cheeks of little Natasha when a hand stopped it "lay your filthy hands on her and watch me squeeze your ugly face" said a pretty lady,"what can you do,you ugly maggot"Henry replied coming towards the lady before a hard punch landed on his chin,blood started gushing out of his mouth as he ran away with Elvis who stood there speechless. "Am Eunice" the pretty lady said extending her hand for a handshake "thanks,am Natasha"Natasha responded,"can we be friends" Eunice asked "sure". Natasha and Eunice became close friends from that day even though they were punished for fighting. Eunice was an Extroverted lady and Natasha was so Introverted,Eunice was a genius,she was a composer,Natasha,Natasha was still finding was she wanted. On her 16th birthday which was supposed to be her sweet sixteen,she woke up to the biggest shock of her life.Her Dad and Mum were sitting down I the sitting room obviously arguing about something,she came out of her room heading towards the sitting room,"I thought today will be different,bit something's don't change I'd just have to stick to it" she said."Good morning my princess,how was your night?" Chris said "it was amazing Daddy" Natasha replied expecting to hear a Happy birthday song or gift or something,"Am filing a divorce" Iris interrupted. Both father and daughter were shocked "what!!" "yes what!!" they both replied "I can't do this anymore its over" Iris added as stood up to leave,"mum!!today's my birthday,really!?you choose to do this today?"Natasha asked as hot tears dropped from her eyes and were rolling down to her cheeks "sorry baby,Happy birthday OK?you'll be fine,you'll get used to the single parenting stuff OK? don't cry honey"Iris said as she formed a Despicable smile on her face,Chris was shocked,they hadn't spoken about it and she said it here,boom! a of a sudden,"its fine,thats what you want huh?I'll give it to you,bring the damn papers I'll sign them,am fed up am tired am done too"Chris replied. For Natasha,it was her worse day ever even though her life has been a constant bad day.she went straight into her room,picked her phone "hello bestie"Natasha called out "birthday girl,how are you doing" Eunice answered "please am not fine,come to the house now please"Natasha answered in a crying tone. Few hours later,Eunice was in Natasha's house trying to console her after she narrated all that happened.Natasha often found comfort in her bestie Eunice,"let me sing one of my songs for you"Eunice proposed Natasha nodded.. "its OK am here its OK don't cry its OK am here to wipe your tears I know you've been hurt you've gone through a lot its OK am here to make you smile....." "Thank you,for everything"Natasha responded after Eunice was done singing,"its fine,as long as you're my best friend you're not going through anything alone". Mum left in Two weeks time,Natasha refused to follow her she wanted to stay with Eunice and her nanny Caroline and her Dad.Dad Had become better as mum left,attention,love,care,those things fathers gave their children,"i miss Mum,but i was beginning to be happy and learn how to live without her"Natasha would always tell herself. It was Natasha's 18th birthday and her dad her was preparing massively for it,he invited big friends,Natasha and Eunice also invited their friends from school,they were in their last year in high school and Natasha had started getting along with some people in school. "hey baby can I come in?"Chris asked Natasha "yes dad come in" she answered,she and Eunice were decorating the room and trying to pick outfits for the birthday "how are you preparing for the birthday baby" he asked with a smile on his face "we're doing our very best dad and thank you for doing this for me, I love you Dad" she replied as she stood up to hug him,"you're welcome baby,Eunice,thank you for being a good friend to her" he commended "its no big deal sir,thats what friends do" she replied,Chris smiling asked her to come in and join the hug."OK I got to go out now,I gave caroline some cash to get all you need,call If anything happens OK?"chris asked "yes daddy,bye.."she said as she waved him goodbye. Eunice went out to get something,on returning back she met Natasha sad while hot tears dropped from her eyes,it was her 18th Birthday and her mum didn't even call to wish her happy birthday,"your mum didn't call right"Eunice asked "like since she left she hasn't even looked back for once,I think she didn't even want to have me,I hate her,she never loved me and I think the feeling is mutual"she replied sobbing "hey,dont talk about your mum like that,maybe she's busy she'll call hopefully"Eunice consoled. She drew her into a hug and consoled her.Finally she got her to sleep. Natasha woke up some minutes after 1:00pm,"excuse me Natasha"she received a knock on the door it was caroline "its caroline,food is ready" caroline answered,"OK big mummy"she replied like she always call her,caroline had become a mother figure to Natasha since Iris left "come out quickly the food is getting cold OK?","yes ma" Natasha answered,in spite the fact that her Dad was rich she remained a quiet,sweet,humble and obedient young lady In few minutes time she was down stairs,she had perceived the aroma of different sorts of food caroline was the best cook as cooking was concerned,Dad was a bad cook,the day he tired to cook for Natasha she had a running stomach and vomited severely so she never indulged her dad to cook ever again. "Big mama your food is smelling so good as usual" She commended Caroline "thanks my darling,I'd do the best for you,you know that right?" Natasha nodded in confirmation as she came closer to the dinning to start devouring the food,her salivary gland where Jubilating for Joy already,she sat and starting dishing her food,"big mama,I woke up and couldn't find my bestie,do you have any idea where she might me?"she asked "she said she wanted to get something down the mall,now eat fast you'd have visitors anytime soon and you should be dressed by then" "yes big mama" Natasha replied smiling. Shortly after,Mrs Caroline's phone rang,picking up the phone it was a strange voice "what!!!" her face turned surprised.
