CAMILLA. KYLE. My lungs lunged as the air around immediately turned suffocating, causing me to find it difficult to breathe. "Kyle?" I questioned in disbelief, not wanting to believe it but he looked so much like him. He turned and for a second, our eyes met again as my heart began racing. His face was sharper now, older, more chiseled with his braided black hair, bluest eyes I still have seen in my life. He took his pink lips into his mouth, biting them gently, he was dressed in all black, like the night. His hands were tucked into his pockets and he looked like a boss, a gangster leader especially with the way his eyes were darkening as he gave orders like I wasn't even there. 'Was this really Kyle? The boy who once held my hand at winter carnivals, who always swore to protect me?' I pondered, knowing he seemed gone now. In his place was a cold, distant and dangerous man that looked like he had been through hell but what hell? Was it as deep as mine? But he didn’t even blink, rather he looked at her like I was some stranger, another one of those girls that were probably going to see like some butchered meat. Goosebumps covered my entire body, just at the thought of it. Please don't tell me, this is what Kyle has turned into. “Kyle?” I whispered, my voice hoarse and almost shaky. “It’s me, Camilla, do you remember me?" I asked and a gasp escaped the guards as they exchanged looks amongst themselves, uncertain. But Kyle’s face didn’t change, he continued to look at me with a blank expression and dead eyes, like I had gone crazy. “Who?” he inquired flatly. “I am pretty sure I have never seen you before." He replied so convincingly that if I didn't recognize how his voice sound the same way and the way he played with his fingers when unsure about something, I would have believed him. So it was either he was pretending or truly didn't recognize me but felt some sort of familiarity. I guess I needed to reach out more. Nevertheless my lips parted as my chest tightened in pain or was it betrayal? But why? "I am the daughter of the Ron's empire, you know what that means so let me go." I struggled, deciding to try the identity threat again but the men just laughed again. "Wait! Isn't your father dead and his second-in-command now in charge?" One of the guards in the corner mocked and I so wanted to be free, so I could go give him the beating of his life. 'How dare he?' I gritted my teeth against one another, feeling enraged as I glared down at him. "Yes so I doubt if she is missing, the man would care much. After all, she is nothing but a threat to him who would have been the real heir if not because she is a girl." Another guard pointed out and the one holding me, scoffed. "Oh please! Girls are meant to be nothing but a way of satisfaction for us men, she can never grow to be a boss of that great of an empire." He added and I threw my head backwards, hitting him hard on the nose and making sure to break his nose. Didn't quite succeed the first time so I did it again till I heard the cracking sound and his grip on me loosened as he clutched his nose in his hand, cursing. I turned to see him bleeding as he collapsed to the ground in pain. My head was hurting from the force I used but it was worth it. I raised my leg and kicked him in face with my iron boot, giving him a cut near the eye. "Never underestimate a girl." Not expecting my attack, the whole room fell into silence as everyone watched in horror or should I say awe, their jaw dropping as they forgot to grab me again. I took that moment to grab the huge stick on the ground beside me. The bastard who insluted my father too was stunned and distracted so I raced towards him, raised the stick up and hit him on the head with it. He fell to the floor with a loud thud, not moving, blood gushing out. "Don't tell me you are that weak to be defeated by a girl." I yelled as I gave him a kick to the side of his ribs. Kyle stood in the same corner, watching me, as an unknown expression formed on his face. "Grab her." The men yelled and immediately surrounded me, their eyes blazing with anger. In my current condition, I could take some of them down but.... “I want this one, she is feisty.” Kyle suddenly spoke up, dismissing my situation like it was nothing. “Make her my personal maid.” He ordered as he walked away from the room, leaving me to their mercy. "Aye." The guards nodded and I was dragged away again, but not easily this time, I made sure to bring most of their bones and more men had to come in. I let them take me away with my thoughts spinning way faster than my feet could move. Kyle recognized me, I know that he did so why was he pretending? He obviously calls the shots here, so why wasn't he letting me go? Why now and most importantly, what had Kyle Baron become, did I even know him at all back then, though we were kids? "Come here, you b***h. You will pay for hurting our teammates." One of the guards said, grabbing me tightly by my hair and yanking my head backwards. My neck almost cracked, as I felt the roots of my hair being almost removed. I refused to cry, show any sign of pain or weaknesses. They were all p*****s anyways, pretending to be man enough. "Let her go." I heard that familiar tone again and let out a sigh. 'Could this day get any worse?'
