ANONYMOUS. Camilla. "Tell me everything you know." I wrote in a paper, then adjusted it by my window side, before going to bed. 'Hopefully, tonight I will be able to sleep.' I thought as I adjusted the eye patch on my face. The next morning, I woke up to meet my window open, with Zade right in front, reading something in his hands. "Good morning." I didn't really pay attention at first and was just greeting him till he turned around and showed me two notes. One that I left and probably a response to it. I froze, my heart skipping a beat as he frowned down on me. "Mind explaining what I just read?" He demanded and I felt my heart skip a beat as I tried to form words, but nothing. 'f**k! Why didn't I lock my room, before going to bed?' I cursed within, knowing I was in deep s**t now, what if he ruined my plans? "This could be from the main enemy." He yelled and I just placed my head into my palm, not knowing what to say. "I doubt so. Why would they send me a note then?" I demanded and Zade chuckled darkly. "I don't know. Maybe to lure you and get rid of the last bloodline attached to this empire." Zade answered and I just rolled my eyes. "And why does that matter? The last bloodline isn't running the empire, is she?" I reminded him just in case he forgot as I threw off the duvet from my body, got off the bed and walked towards him. His eyes softened, but I didn't care and just grabbed both notes from his hand before going into my bathroom and slamming the door hard. I needed a private moment. "I am sorry." He apologized but I just scoffed, and read the note. “You are walking into a trap, Camilla,” Zade said, as soon as I got back from the bathroom and I groaned, wishing I had stayed longer there. 'Shouldn't he even be gone by now?' I pondered as I just ignored him and went to my dressing table. “This could be a setup from one of the gangs or even worse.” He added and I turned to see him look at me, with worry in his eyes. “Don't bother, I will be fine and besides, I think it's time to finally meet the kind of monsters my father has been keeping from me.”Zade cursed under his breath. "Your father has shield you all these while because you are meant to be protected and not be some kind of leader. Why can't you understand that?" He half-yelled and I shrugged. "Perhaps I don't want to be protected and if this meeting goes wrong, I will tell him myself in hell." ....... ........ The rain tapped softly against the windows as I packed a small pistol into the waistband of my jeans. 'Perhaps my training would finally be useful.' I thought as I zipped up my leather jacket, feeling determined, as I remembered what the Letter said. "Meet me at Raven board's Dock. Come alone or forget the truth." It was as if I could hear the unknown tone in mind, threatening and deep. Zade tried warning me one last time, pleaded even but I refused to listen. I had to do this, I had to know the truth. By nightfall, I had already left the estate in an unmarked black car, tinted windows shielding my face. The city lights faded as I drove farther into my destination. Thinking about the name now, it does ring a bell. I have heard how it used to be a bristling port for deals, but now, even the ghosts are scared to get close. It is said tons of unimaginable things happen down here. A shiver went down my spine as I parked two blocks from the dock and walked the rest of the way, my boots crunching against gravel. I arrived at Dock 9 — a wide, empty pier littered with broken crates and oil stains. A single lamppost flickering above as I scanned the area. It was empty, dirty, like no one had been here for ages. I felt my skin crawl as I yelled. “Hello, anyone here?” I called out, hand brushing the hidden grip of my pistol but got no answer. I had been asked to come alone and I did, was this truly some trap? As time passed with no sounds, my instincts began to scream at me to leave, and just when I finally decided to listen to it, came the sharp sound of footsteps. I spun around immediately, drawing my gun, ready to fire at anything but before I could aim, a dark figure tackled me from behind, grabbing my hair hard in the process. My weapon flew out of my hand and fell to the ground as another man seized my arms, yanking them behind me. “Let go of me!” I hissed, knocking my head backwards against his nose, earning a painful groan from him, his hold loosening. I decided to use the moment to escape but a third figure slammed a cloth over my face and it smelled suffocating but I continued to struggle, all to no avail as darkness swallowed me whole. I woke up to my head pounding like a war drum and tried to sit up but couldn’t, my wrists were bound behind my back with zip ties and ankles tied too. A burlap sack was pulled off my head, revealing a dim, windowless room with concrete floors and rusted pipes. I looked around and noticed four other girls huddled in a corner, all shivering, bruised, and terrified. I was about to say something to them when; A metal door creaked open and I froze as two men in black tactical gear walked in, one pointed directly at me. “Bring her, The boss wants to see her.” The others watched as I was dragged away, I couldn't fight back this time as my mind raced. 'Should I have listened to Zade, Who were these people? Was this a trafficking ring? Was this coincidentally or I was indeed lured?' I pondered but decided to do something either ways. "If you don't let go of me now, you are going to regret this." I warned, making my voice tough and hoping to scare them but they just laughed. They moved me through tight corridors until finally, I was pushed into a large open room filled with noise. Men talking, crates being opened, guns on display and standing in the center of it all, giving orders in a voice so deep and cold it made me stiffen from recognition. 'What was he doing here, he couldn't have betrayed me right?' I thought in panic, feeling the emotion of dread settle in my stomach as I shook my head sideways in denial. "Someone is no longer cocky." One of the men grabbing me teased as the others burst into a loud laugh, causing him to turn and our eyes met, locking into position.
