Suddenly the door was kicked opened Delilah's eyes darted to the door and smiled weakly as if a lifesaver had appeared while Artemis’s eyes darkened; a figure entered the hospital ward
Artemis searched her memories for who the person in front of her is
Oh, this is Lucas white her ‘fiancé’ presumably in name only because this fiancé of the original owner is having an affair with her sister
“Artemis! How can you be so heartless to your own sister?” a male voice said with disgust and anger present in his voice it was the second young master of the white family Lucas white he looked at Delilah who was barely even conscious as he held her
“The last time I checked she was brought into my home by my father and his mistress so how is she considered my sister?”
Artemis said coldly her arms crossed looking at Lucas who was holding Delilah
“Just because she’s not your biological sister doesn’t mean you should treat her as an animal, " Artemis smiled and her upward curved mouth was like a sharp knife that could hurt people at any time.
Lucas shuddered; it felt as if she was going to slit his throat with a knife if he said another word.
“how funny, when I was pushed and plunged into the swimming pool none of my family members came looking for me, did they treat me as a human“ said Artemis “the swimming pool wasn’t even that deep you could easily swim to the surface” said Lucas
Artemis’ eyes darkened “But I can’t swim” she said blankly as a tear streaked her made up face making her look pitiful, that was the grief from the original owner, Lucas was momentarily stunned and just remembered she really couldn’t swim he felt a little guilty the figure in his arms felt the atmosphere shift and said “sister I understand it was my fault for not stopping our classmates for pushing you into the pool please forgive me”
Ahh... Delilah felt the pain from her broken arms and looked at Artemis with anger as she gritted her teeth and fainted, “Delilah!!” shouted Lucas
Artemis wanted to applaud for her acting, it’s an Oscar winning performance, as Lucas was attending to Delilah, Artemis stood up from the hospital bed that she was sitting on, and Lucas stared at her angrily.
Artemis just glanced and sneered, her ocean blue eyes looking aloof as she pressed the intercom soon a nurse entered the ward “What might be the problem miss Anderson ?” asked the nurse “too noisy” Artemis said lightly Lucas was angry that Artemis didn’t even put him in her eyes the nurse politely asked them to leave
Lucas cursed at Artemis a few times
“You will pay for hurting Delilah, and if you think that by playing hard to get, you’ll get my attention it’s just a pipe dream the only person I’ll ever love is Delilah!”
“Hahaha” Artemis laughter gave a very eerie feeling that sent chills down one's spine
Lucas shuddered
“What made you think that I’m trying to get your attention, are you worthy?”
“You!!” Lucas said angrily his face turning red
“You’re not fooling anyone by saying this, everyone in the LA knows that you’ve been pursuing me for years” he said
This was true, the original owner was supposed to be engaged to the white family but their young master didn’t approve of being married to a “fool” as so the people called her it became a rumor in the whole city that ever since her mother died the original owner became a taciturn, avoiding people.
The alliance between the two families is still being upheld but the person in lucas’ heart is Delilah and Artemis knew this so with that in mind why not break this engagement?
“Okay, let’s break our engagement” Artemis said lightly

Lucas was stunned, Delilah who was pretending to be unconscious
was also shocked but continued her act
“You're lying aren't you?”
Artemis sneered thinking how foolish the original owner was to love such a despicable man
“Love truly makes people blind” thought Artemis
“I’m waiting for an answer?” she said with a little bit of impatience
“Fine, but you have to beat me in a race” He couldn’t believe that the very obedient Artemis would turn to this she must be bluffing, she has pursued him for years it can't just go down the drain thought Lucas
After a few moments of silence Artemis stood up crossed her arms and looked at him
“Sure”
Boom!!
In all of LA, who didn’t know that Artemis couldn’t drive, she didn’t even know how to change gears
She’s just asking for death!!
“Artemis if you get a broken leg or worse don’t blame me” said Lucas
In the whole of LA who doesn’t know that Lucas is a professional racer, sending almost all his opponents to the hospital
“When shall we host the competition?” Artemis asked
“Next week Saturday”
“Got it!”
After this the nurse politely asked Lucas to leave
Lucas left with the “unconscious” Delilah in his arms, leaving only Artemis in the ward “thank you, you can leave now” the nurse nodded and left.
“These people aren’t worth your grief and pain I promise to avenge you” Artemis murmured as she placed her hand on the heart of the original owner
She stood up from the chair which she was sitting on and went to the restroom looked at the mirror the original owner was really gullible to believe Delilah
She bent down to the sink and washed her face, cleaning off all the makeup showing her face looking like a freshly peeled egg with her ocean blue eyes and red cherry lips. She was absolutely beautiful. It seemed like the original owner's mother had some good genes, so she stepped out of the restroom.
“I need to get out of here,” thought Artemis. She signed the discharge document as she hailed a taxi and soon later arrived at the Anderson mansion.
Throughout the journey Artemis had a cold face. This house originally belonged to the original owner’s mother but now it has turned into a house for pigs!!
It had a European style to it with a black curved gate which exudes elegance and nobleness and two security guards at each side of the gate. It just screams luxury
She stepped into the gate and entered the house; the house was extremely big with a large chandelier at the center looking very beautiful
From her memory she figured out where her room was, it was in the farther most corner of the house or most likely the abandoned room in the house that no one ever uses anymore
Fortunately there was a very good view. She could see the peach blossom tree which only blooms during the winter. The bed wasn’t big compared to the other rooms in the house but it was enough for her.
After settling she opened her phone or to be precise the original owner's phone, it had cute cat wallpaper, Artemis loved cats it reminded her of her pet jaguar in the savanna forest so she changed the wallpaper to a jaguar.
She opened the contacts and she noticed that the original owner didn’t have any contacts she dialed a number she knew, it rang a few times and came through
Hello?! A groggy voice came through
Artemis was using a voice changer and chuckled “Fox, it seems you’ve been slacking off hmm?!”
“Who is this?” the voice asked
“Oh~ seems like you really have been slacking off these years I’ve been gone?!” Artemis said lightly
The person on the other end of the phone could feel the coldness emanating from the phone screen
“B...Boss?!” the voice said in disbelief
“Mmh seems like you’ve woken up”
“Boss!! It is you!” why did you disappear from the organization?” asked the voice named fox
He had chestnut colored hair, deep brown fox shaped eyes, and freckles that’s why he earned the codename fox
“It’s just a matter of time, before I return” Artemis said lightly
“Boss, the organization has been taken over by raven”
“Raven?” Artemis asked, but didn't the explosion kill both of them? She pondered
“Yes boss! The person you were ambushed by was one of Raven’s confidants”
Well at that time the thick trees in rain forest made the whole environment dark she couldn’t really see the persons face clearly coupled with her injuries her vision was vague
“Raven, I’ll make sure to personally send you to hell!!” Artemis said and there was hint of crimson color in her eyes making her look terrifying
Though the phone fox could feel the cold pressure from his boss
He can’t blame her, raven was a traitor and the only punishment for a traitor in the mercenary world was “death!” “Raven you bastard!!” Fox thought
“What about thunder and hawk?”
“All of our brothers are scattered in different parts of the city waiting for the day that the boss will return!”
Suddenly Artemis hung up the phone, someone had been banging on the door for a long time, she first reinforced her phone software with a firewall, then she stood up and opened the door it was a servant “do you know how long I’ve been knocking on the door, don’t you know you’re wasting my time--” Ahh!! Before the servant could finish her sentence she screamed in pain as a bright red five fingerprint was visible on her face
“What the hell! how dare you slap me!’ said the servant
Artemis squatted down because the maid was on the ground because of the force of the slap “who do you think you are?” Artemis said coldly, nobody had been this arrogant in front of her, her eyes were as cold as ice making the servants back to run down in a cold sweat.
She stood up and said dangerously “if you know what’s good for you, you will get lost!” her eyes looking like she could kill her at any moment
The servants scurried away for the fear of her life “this young girls aura is too strong, I could hardly breathe; she was very easy to manipulate, what happened now”
The other servants and the servant whom Artemis had slapped were gossiping. “Are you sure that’s the young madam? Or is she an imposter?’
“shhh!!, here she comes” Artemis walked down the stairs, wearing home clothes making her look lazy and indifferent, she lightly glanced at the servants and made her way to the dining table.
Delilah and her mother, Mia were at the dining table eating happily, they’re happy, the meal was cut short once they saw Artemis.
They shot death glares at her, wishing to bore holes into her.
Artemis didn’t even glance at them and sat down staring at the leftovers in her plate, her eyes darkened “what is this?” she asked coldly.
The chef came from the kitchen looking arrogant “Those are the leftovers, if you don’t like it, go cook yourself!!” Artemis listened calmly, her eyes gradually turning cold, the last person that talked this arrogantly to her was now 6-feet under, those who knew her, to be precise, her subordinates, who knew her, knew that this sudden silence was the calm before the storm “what?! Too lazy to cook for yourself... Ahh...” the chef stopped mid-sentence as a punch which seemed like nothing to ordinary people was like a bowling ball being thrown on the chef's face, he felt one of his teeth fall out “too weak” thought Artemis.
In her previous life, one punch would’ve knocked 14 teeth out and a disjointed nose, she really needs to start working out again.
And calmly carried a tissue and wiped her hands and crossed her arms and said “the next time you speak like this again in front of me, I’ll personally send you to the king of hell!!” the chef was scared out of his wits
Her aura alone enveloped the whole room, like the former assassin X looking at a corpse; her eyes carried a hint of killing intent.
“You good for nothing waste, how dare you” said Mia, she had to admit this girl's aura made her tremble uncontrollably. She could only shout out in anger
Artemis looked at Mia with evident killing intent in her eyes “you’re just like your mother, a good for nothing waste, once a waste, always a waste” Mia said “ look at my Delilah, so beautiful, smart and gentle, if you could have half of her smartness then maybe young master white wouldn’t have rejected you ” Mia said with pride.
Snap!!
There was a loud sound!
Ahhhh!!! You waste, you dare slap me!!
Artemis crossed her arms and said coldly “ I can slap you anytime I feel like, do I need to pick a date?” these people treated the original owner like rubbish, a pile of waste and they still dare to insult the original owners mother after taking over her house, she will slowly take back everything that belonged to the original owner and make this Anderson family beg on the streets then she can continue on her revenge to return back to the organization and keep her foothold there, those old guys and raven can just enjoy themselves for now, when she returns, she will make them kneel before her, as she thought of this, her eyes turned crimson, almost bloodthirsty, before she snapped out of it.
All my subordinates that died will be avenged!!!
“If you dare talk about my mother like that I’ll cut out your tongue and feed it to the dogs!!” her momentum burst forth and it felt like she would actually do it.
Mia’s face turned red with anger
