Silence became more piercing than before, and my mind were full of questions I'm itching to ask but didn't know where to start.
"What do you mean seeing a lot of things now unlike before?", Soljun suddenly asked in a dearly manner so the kid won't be intimidated or scared. The kid continued to play with the car Dokhun successfully formed.
"It's so hard to see before, my eyes were blocked with scary black light. It's very not clear.", he explained and pouted. It was really cute; the way he said those word. He even called the darkness as "scary black light".
The boys gave me a look so I went to the kid and sat down to talk to him.
"Ah, so you weren't able to see things before?", I tried to talk in a cheerful manner and he just nodded.
I looked up at them and they gave me a skeptical look.
Wait, so does that mean there is a possibility that he's blind before and been able to see when he had contained violet virus? But it may be the reason. I remember when I wasn't able to smell anything—having anosmia—and be able to smell again when my blood mixed with that harpy.
But I am still confused. If my theories were right, that means people with defect with senses—touch, taste, smell, sight and hearing—have something like, immunity to violet virus and won't be affected by it too much? How come? And that'll be a possibility that people with disability of senses that contained violet virus can be cure, too? Like me and this kid?
The kid suddenly looked outside the window and ran towards me. What's wrong?
Just in time, I can smell something with bad odor. That cloying odor of Violet Harpies. It's different from the smell this kid emits. Alarmed, I immediately stood up and gave the kid to Younghoon who's near me.
"Get your weapons. I can smell them around.", I said and they went to get their weapons which were scattered around the place. I took my crossbow and arrows, and gestured them to be quiet. I muttered, "Go to my room.", before I ran towards the room dad and the others might be.
I opened the door and they were surprised to see me there.
"Take everything you can. They're here.", I said and they were in a rush to carefully packed everything. Luckily they were so diligent to label each of those, so they wouldn't worry much later.
I quickly made my way towards the front door and waited there. I know they're coming. Damn, thinking that I'll be seeing them again made me feel a bit scared since what happened last time. My wound wasn't even healed yet, but it's surprising it's not aching much more than the wound I got on my leg before. Maybe I've gone immune to the pain.
"You're not planning to take them down all by yourself, do you?", I looked behind to see Yul with a baseball bat. Damn, he looked extra attractive when he said that, and when he went out by the door.
"Yes, and you're not planning to take them down with just the two of you, right?", Doyun appeared behind him, along with the grinning Soljun, Dokhun, Jaehwa, and Younghoon.
Wow, having them as friends must be great.
"I don't want to sound dramatic, but you guys nearly made me tear up.", I said and smiled.
Before they could even reply, there's a sudden weird whistling sound on the air that we can clearly hear. They're really here.
"Doyun hyung looked excited as ever.", Younghoon remarked.
Doyun just laughed and said, "Yep, I am." He looked even more determined than excited. There's anger firing on his eyes, I can see it. Seriously? What could be the reason he seems to loathe those creatures? He must have been through a lot and I think Violet Harpies have something to do with it.
Suddenly, there was a flocking sounds near us, and the smell of them lingered on my nose. I loaded my crossbow with arrow and was ready to shoot when they attack us.
"We should get out of here.", I said and added, "Younghoon, can you please call everyone else and tell them to exit this place?", I said and he just nodded before he ran inside. If ever there'll be a bunch of them to attack us, then we aren't safe here even just for a minute.
"But, we're out of fuel.", Soljun said and I cursed under my breath.
"I saw this truck on one of the house around this place.", Jaehwa spoke. Wow, he sounded really reliable. He added, "I checked and its fuel is still full."
"Are you sure?", Doyun asked and Jaehwa just nodded.
"Okay, Jaehwa. I want you to take that vehicle at the backyard of this house, and wait for us, can you?", I glanced at him and he hanged his weapon on his hand in a cool way before he nodded.
"Dad.", I called him when he went out with the rest. "Dad, go to the backyard with the kid and the others, Jaehwa will be there with a truck. Wait for us.", I said and he nodded. In no time after he walked away, Violet Harpies appeared.
I heard Soljun curse under his breath, and I can't help but to do the same. I tried to find that familiar Harpy, but he's nowhere to be seen. Maybe, not yet.
I didn't wait for it to fly near us, and fired with my crossbow. This is one of the cons of using crossbows. Reloading arrows is kind of tiring. If it weren't that I am used to use this, I would've given up.
The others stayed at their place, ready to fight when they get near them.
I ran towards Doyun when a Harpy flew fast behind him. I shot the arrow towards the harpy, as the arrow pierced through his chest which made it fall on the ground.
I dodged when another one attacked me, which gave me a little time to reload my crossbow.
"Yul!", Dokhun yelled which made me look behind me towards Yul, only to see he's already lying on the ground—unconscious—while he was under the claw of one of the harpy. I was frozen at my spot but then ran towards him to hit the harpy with my crossbow. I don't really have any choice but to swing the crossbow at the Harpy which made it fall on the ground, before I completely shot it with my crossbow straight through his chest.
I knelt on the ground at Yul, his head was bleeding, and so his arms.
