The Book of Nightmare

Eli was going towards his bedroom. He entered the door and closed it. He went to the shelf and got a thick, old book. The book was dusty, so Eli used a handkerchief to wipe the dust off the old book. He saw the title of the book, "The Book of Nightmares." Eli sat down on his bed, and he turned the thick cover of the book. Then, he started to read the first page. While he was reading, he felt dizzy and fell down on his book. He did not know what happened next, but as he woke up, he was in a place that he did not know. "Where am I?" Eli asked himself. He was in a very arid land, a desert. He saw nothing but a light brown sand that looked like a mixture of powdered milk and coffee. He touched his face and he slapped it to know if he was just dreaming or if he was awake. He felt hurt by it, so he knew that he was not dreaming. Even the clothes and coat that he wore were still the same. He searched for any land where there's some trees and water, but he saw nothing. He felt tired, hungry and thirsty. He didn't know what to do anymore. He started thinking that maybe he will just die there. He cried and cried, until the wide, arid land was all wetted because of his tears. Slowly, the algae, grass, shrubs, plants, flowers, trees appeared in the surroundings. The mountains, hills, volcanoes, caves, forest, cliffs, waterfalls, lakes, rivers and streams appeared too. The animals, insects, fish, birds, and many other animals showed up. And the whole fantasyland is alive again. As Eli turned his head up, he saw that the arid land was already became full of growing plants. He couldn't believe what had happened. He even didn't notice that the whole place was flooded with his tears when he cried. Eli stood up and jumped because of amazement. He touched the plants to see if it was true or just his hallucination. He felt it, so he knew that everything that he saw was not just a hallucination. A beautiful fairy dressed in a long white gown and holding a long, thin stick in her right hand, suddenly appeared several feet away from where Eli was standing. She smiled and introduced herself to Eli. "Good day, Eli," she greeted. "I am Fiona," she introduced herself and smiled sweetly. "You revived this land and because of it, I have a gift for you," the fairy said. Eli asked the beautiful fairy what she was going to give him. The fairy opened her left hand. Eli saw a shimmering green light that was coming from something that looked like a small stone on the fairy's palm. "Wow!" Eli exclaimed in amazement. "That's so beautiful," he said. "This is the source and power of nature. Take it. It can help you to solve your problems while you are in this place," the fairy said. "Remember, you must never use it for evil things," the fairy reminded. Eli went towards the fairy and got the small stone in her palm. "Thank you," Eli said while looking at green stone in his hand. The fairy suddenly disappeared in just a wink of the eyes. When Eli looked back at where the fairy was lately, he can see no one anymore. Eli was so amazed at what he saw. He felt like he was in his dreamland, he is very happy. He closed his hand, and the shimmering, green stone disappeared as he opened his hand again. He felt a strong force coming inside his body. Eli went towards the trees and sat down on the grass that was covered by the shade of the tall trees. The butterflies, of different sizes and colors, are flying above his head. The plants and flowers are so beautiful that they can take someone's stress and throw it away. Eli is starving. He is very hungry, but he doesn't know where to get food. He remembered to ask the power of nature to give him food. So he closed his hand and opened it again, the shimmering light that was coming from a small stone immediately showed up on his palm. He asked it to give him food to eat, and abruptly, he saw the trees that were bearing good fruits. He climbed a tree and got some fruits. Then, he eats all of the fruits her got like a very hungry man. Eli can't believe that the trees have different fruits. He never expected that he would have a prosperous life in a fantasyland. Yet, what he doesn't know is that there is an exchange of being in the land of fantasies. The sun is moving slowly across the blue sky, until it reaches the sea and drowns. Nightfall quickly came. Eli saw the fireflies that were shimmering in the dark, the stars shining in the sky. The three crescent moons aligned in the sky and it seemed following him everywhere he goes. It was his first time seeing three crescent moons in the sky. "Eli, what are you doing here?" asked the small voice of a girl. Eli searched for someone that was talking to him, but he saw nothing, only the fireflies that were shimmering in the dark. The voice of a girl said again, "I'm on your right side." Eli turned his head beside him and saw the firefly that was shimmering. Eli was shocked when he heard that the firefly was talking. He shook his head and asked the firefly if it was really talking. The firefly answered that she was not a real firefly but a woman named Hanna who once lived on the Earth. Hanna explained everything to Eli. She said that she once loved to read books about fantasies. Until one day, she met an old man who suggested her to buy a dirty old book entitled, "The Book of Nightmares." One day, as she was reading the book, a strong force pulled her and brought her to the desert, where she cried and cried until the whole desert flooded with her tears. The land became full of trees, plants, grass, flowers, animals, streams, hills, rivers, mountains, caves, etc. The whole kingdom of Fantasy Land showed up. Hanna happily wonder around but one day, a bad witch changed her appearance into a firefly. After what happened, she can do nothing but flying everyday and night, waiting for someone to save her. Until now, Hanna is still under the enchantment of the bad witch. Hanna told Eli everything that is happening now and Eli was enlightened. Eli is in the place where the story of the book happened. The same with what happened to Hannah, Eli is now inside the story of The Book Of Nightmares.
