Elenora POV
It had been 5 days since I last seen Leviathan. Lilith longed to find him, but I was scared. I stayed in the bedroom he left me in except to go to the hospital. Chandra showed me where to go the first time, but I was able to find my way the last 4 days. I was basically healed. My body was no longer riddled with bruises and the bites and whip marks completely healed to scars. The doctor I met the first time I was in the pack lands was the one who seen me every day. He was becoming my friend. Ivan was such a kind soul. He invited me to come to his house for dinner anytime I wanted. He told me that Melody would love to meet me. No one knows I’m Leviathan’s mate yet. They think I was saved from rogues and am from another pack. On my way to the hospital I always see other pack members. When they look at me, I make sure to keep my head down and quickly go my way. I wasn’t ready to talk to anyone. Everyone has demons and they always seemed to come out when I was around. I couldn’t handle getting abused again.
Chandra was also becoming my friend. She brought me all my meals and talked to me about pack life. I wanted to ask her about Leviathan, how he was and who he was, but something stopped me. I felt my need for him like I needed water, but I was doing my best to keep it down. I was right about Chandra being a force to be reckoned with. She told me about yelling at Leviathan when she found out about me. I couldn’t imagine anyone yelling at an Alpha. I heard my father talking about how the Alpha he killed would hold hanging ceremonies for anyone who disobeyed him. That is why he killed him. Father thought the pack was better off without a murder-happy Alpha. I still haven’t revealed my last name and true identity. Leviathan hadn’t rejected me yet and I was beginning to hope he wasn’t going to. I was not going to help him with his decision.
I got ready for bed that night, not believing I had let Chandra talk me into joining the pack house for breakfast tomorrow. She has been trying for days and I eventually agreed because I needed to see him. I needed my mate. Lilith was bouncing around in my head. She was so excited to see him. I tossed and turned in bed and I couldn’t sleep so I decided to go for a run. I wasn’t sure if it was allowed at night, but I haven’t given Lilith a chance to stretch herself for days. I hid behind a bush while I undressed and shifted. I stayed far away from the border and the forest. I just let Lilith stretch her legs and take us around the grounds. The property was huge, which fit a growing pack. There was not only the pack house and the hospital, but also a village where most of the pack lived. Chandra told me that Leviathan made sure to take care of every member of the pack. He allowed them to live without having to pay for rent. They had to pay for their food and whatever extras they wanted, but he also had a business where many of the pack members worked at. The heart he had for his pack filled mine with love. From what I knew about him he was kind. Would he want me though? I was unlovable. He deserved someone who was untouched by life’s hard moments. I finished my run and headed back to the room not realizing eyes were on me.
Leviathan POV
I woke up suddenly in bed. I have been having a hard time sleeping. I wanted so bad to check on Elenora, but I wasn’t sure if she wanted me to. Chandra kept pushing me to see her and get to know her, but I was hesitant. All I can remember is the fear she had for me when I moved her from the cell to the bedroom. I had taken to standing outside her room at night listening to her sleep. I was creepy, but I needed to be close to her. Knowing I wouldn’t be able to go back to sleep until I knew she was ok I got out of bed and headed to her room. When I got to her door, I didn’t hear her breathing. I opened the door fearful of what I would find. She was gone. Did she leave us? I could feel Altair shaking his head “She is running. I can feel her wolf calling out to me. Please can we find her and run with her?” I couldn’t stand waiting any longer. Fueling Altair’s need I headed outside to shift. I undressed and shifted into Altair letting him carry us. We saw her heading toward us. My resolve crumbled and I forced Altair to hide in the bushes. He whined but worried what would happen if we just bounded on her. He knew we had to treat her gently. She would run if we scared her. I watched her bound to a group of bushes by the pack house door. She came out, dressed, and headed inside. She was so beautiful, even in the dark when I couldn’t see her very well. I headed inside and shifted. I stopped outside her door and heard her sleeping. Satisfied I went back to my room and fell asleep dreaming of my mate.
