Chapter Eighteen

Elenora POV ‘Breathe Elenora’. I was trying to get myself to go down to breakfast. Chandra had offered to meet me at my room and come with me, but I dismissed her. I was a big girl. I had been through much worse than eating breakfast with people. I hated myself for that decision now. I got up on shaky legs and looked at myself in the mirror one last time. I was so different from the first time I looked in a mirror. My hair was no longer the dull brown. It was cut evenly, thanks to Chandra, and growing. It shined and was a little wavy. My face didn’t hold any more bruises, but I could see the scars that living as a rogue for all my life caused. My cheeks were no longer sunken in. I had been inhaling food as my stomach started to stretch. I was gaining healthy weight and it looked good on my body. I was developing curves and boobs. My body was no longer feeding off itself. I smiled. It was the first time I had ever been able to continually ensure my belly was full. As if on cue, my stomach rumbled. I laughed. There was no keeping it from food, so I started heading toward the dining hall.   As the dining room came into view, I could see Leviathan throwing his head back with laughter. The sound wrapped itself around me and filled me with love. I could listen to him laugh for hours. He noticed me about the same time as Chandra did. “Hey Elenora!” I couldn’t focus on her though. I locked eyes with Leviathan. Everything else stopped existing. I could feel the electricity happening between us. I wanted to move closer to him, but it was like my brain stopped being able to control my body. He stood up, about to come to me when Chandra grabbed my arm. I shook my head and smiled at her. I heard a small growl that stopped with a look from Chandra. I knew it was Leviathan. Hearing his possessiveness made me feel better. Maybe he was ok with me being his. I snaked my arm through Chandra’s as she led me to the table. I finally focused enough to realize there was a ton of pack members here. I had never been around this many people before. I bent my head and stumbled a little on the way to my seat. “You can set here next to me.” I heard Chandra say. I mumbled my thanks. I could feel Leviathan on the other side of me. My body tingled. I kept my head down until a plate was shoved in my view. I looked up and saw Leviathan smiling at me. I swallowed as his eyes caught me again. I could feel myself chewing on my bottom lip. I wanted to touch him so bad. I ripped my eyes from his and started to eat. Chandra had been teaching me how to eat properly in front of other people. I made her laugh the first time I ate in front of her. I had no manners, but I was learning.   The dining room once again filled with the sounds of the pack members talking. It was loud, but I breathed to help calm myself. Almost as if he could sense my unease, I felt Leviathan place his hand on my arm. The effect was immediate. His presence calmed me the way nothing ever had. A sense of safety wrapped around me. Once he felt me calm, he removed his hand and continued to eat. I yearned for him to touch me again, but I knew he hadn’t introduced me as his mate yet. “So, what’s your name?” I knew that unfamiliar voice had to be talking to me. I looked up and saw a male I had never seen before looking at me expectantly. I could feel the fear rising in me again. He looked confused. “Can you talk? If not its ok. I know a little sign.” He started moving his hands in a funny way. I didn’t know what was happening, but I knew I had to leave. Who was he signaling? I tore out of my chair and bounded up the stairs to my room. I hid in my bathroom shaking in fear. I heard the door to my room open and closed. This is it. They are coming for me. I closed my eyes, unwilling to let them see the fear in mine.   Leviathan POV I felt her presence as soon as she entered the room. I turned to look at Elenora. My eyes captured hers and the world melted away. She looked so much better. She looked healthy. That thought made my heart soar. I stood up to go to her, the electricity filling the room was too much for me to bear. I was willing to claim her as mine and announce it to the world. Her eyes torn from mine and the world established itself again. Chandra had made it to her before I did. She was touching what was mine. I let a small growl escape my lips until Chandra gave me a hard look. She was right. I didn’t want to scare Elenora. Luckily, Chandra knew to sit her beside me. I sat down as she did. She kept her head down and didn’t move so I pushed a plate in her view. When she looked up, I smiled at her. She started to chew her bottom lip. She did not know what she was doing to me. I could feel my d**k start to stand at attention. I wanted to capture that lip with my teeth while my hands roamed her body. I could feel she had a need for me. I could smell her sweet scent of arousal. She tore her eyes from mine so she could eat. I knew people saw our exchange, but I didn’t care. She was mine and I wanted to yell it from the rooftops. I was about to say as much when I felt her fear. The anger in me was building as I scanned the room. Who was putting her in danger? I quickly realized it was the noise level. She had never been around so many people. I put my arm on hers to calm myself. I noticed she was calming too. Once we were both ok, I decided to finish my plate.   I was busy eating when I heard Leo try to talk to her. Before I could cut in the conversation as I felt her fear rise, she bounded out of her seat and back to her room. I growled at Leo. I knew he didn’t mean to cause her to be afraid, but I wasn’t going to let those who scare her off without warning. I grabbed her half-finished plate and loaded it with more food before I picked up my own and followed her up the steps. I arranged the plates so I could open her door. I could feel her fear rolling off her from where I stood. I quickly sat down the plates and went into the bathroom. My heart clenched when I saw her curled up in a ball too afraid to open her eyes. It reminded me of the cell. I dropped down in front of her. “Elenora, baby. It’s just me.” I felt as her shaking started to subside, but not quick enough for me. She had no right to feel fear from our pack. Without thinking I gathered her up in my arms. I felt her stiffen and put her hand on my chest, almost as if to push me away. I kept hold of her and she settled. Her fear subsided quicker as I held her to me. We sat there, neither of us willing to let go. I could have stayed like this forever, but I heard her stomach growl. I heard her musical laugh. “I guess my stomach is getting impatient. I can smell the food you brought.” I smiled and untangled myself from her. I stood up then helped her up. “It’s on the desk out there. I brought enough for both of us. Can I eat with you?” I saw her blush and look down. “Yes Alpha.” I could feel Altair howl in joy at her decision.   We grabbed our plates and settled on the floor. There was a silence around us that was comfortable as we ate. When I finished, I put my plate to the side and looked at her. It looked like she was savoring the food with every bite. It made me smile to see her happy. I swallowed. “So, Elenora, are you liking it here?” Her beautiful brown eyes snapped open. “Yes, I am Alpha.” I smiled at her. “You don’t have to call me Alpha. I am your mate. You can call me Levi or Leviathan.” I saw the surprise in her eyes. “You aren’t going to reject me?” Hurt flashed through me. Did she want to be rejected? “I wasn’t planning to. Are you unhappy with me?” She stared at me with confusion. “But what about what I am? Where I came from? You are the Alpha. You deserve someone who isn’t scared of your pack.” She sat her plate down and wrapped her arms around her knees. “Levi, I’m not good for you. You don’t know what has happened to me. You need someone pure.” I scooted closer to her, forcing her eyes to connect with mine. “Elenora. You are what I need. Goddess of the Moon gave you to me. I’ve talked to Dr. Bristol. I know what injuries you came with when you came onto our grounds the first time. I don’t care about that.” I took her hand and placed it under my shirt on my heart. “You feel that?” She nodded, unable to speak. “You are the reason my heart is still going. The rest doesn’t matter to me.” She shuddered then I felt her attack me.
