"I've always been Princess Sophia Marigold, the golden-haired heir to the throne. My life was a gilded cage, filled with royal duties and stifling rules. I yearned for freedom, for adventure, for something more than the palace walls. And then, I found it.

It was in the vibrant city of Budapest that I met him - Logan Blackthorn. A rogue with jet-black hair and a mysterious aura. He was everything I wasn't supposed to want, everything I wasn't supposed to be with. But he showed me a world beyond my palace, a world filled with wonders and dangers I'd never known.

I was drawn to him, to his world. But it wasn't just the thrill of the unknown that pulled me in. It was him. Logan, with his daring exploits and his protective nature. He was my adventure, my freedom.

But with freedom came challenges. I had to navigate through dangers, stand up against threats, and confront my own misconceptions. I found myself making tough decisions, taking brave steps, and discovering a strength I never knew I had.

This is my story. A story of a princess who dared to step out of her palace, who dared to fall in love with a rogue. This is the story of how I became Sophia Marigold, the Luna of the Danube Dwellers pack, the person I was always meant to be.

Breaking the Gilded Cage
{Princess Sofia POV} The golden rays of the sun filtered through the ornate windows of the palace, casting long shadows on the marble floor. I, Princess Sophia Marigold, stood in the grand hall, my heart pounding in my chest. Today was not just another day of royal duties and stifling rules. Today, I was to embark on a journey to the vibrant city of Budapest, a journey that promised freedom and adventure. As I looked around the grand hall, my gaze fell on the gilded cage that had been my world for the past 18 years. The palace, with its towering walls and opulent decor, has always been a symbol of my royal lineage. But it was also a reminder of the life I yearned to escape. Suddenly, the grand doors of the hall swung open, and in walked Lord Alistair, his dark brown hair gleaming under the chandeliers. His presence does not please me. There was something that put me off about him. His presence was like a dark cloud, casting a shadow over the grandeur of the palace. Lord Alistair, with his stern face and piercing gaze, was a constant reminder of the life I was trapped in. Every time he comes around me, I could feel the air around me turn heavy. His footsteps echoed through the grand hall, each step a stark reminder of the power he held. His voice, cold and unyielding, sent shivers down my spine. His words, always laced with a subtle threat, left a bitter taste in my mouth. As I watched him from the corner of my eye, memories of past encounters came flooding back. I remembered the countless times he had reprimanded me for stepping out of line. His words, always sharp and cutting, echoed in my mind. One such memory was particularly vivid. It was the day of the annual royal ball, a grand event attended by dignitaries from all over various kingdoms. I had been practicing my curtsy for days, wanting to make a good impression. But in my nervousness, I stumbled, causing a minor disruption in the proceedings. Lord Alistair was quick that day to reprimand me as he said "A princess should be graceful, Sophia, "You are a reflection of the royal family. Such clumsiness is unacceptable." Another time, I had expressed my desire to visit the local town fair. I yearned to experience the simple joys of life outside the palace walls. But Lord Alistair had dismissed my request outright. "A princess has no business fraternizing with commoners," he had declared, his words a stark reminder of the invisible barrier that separated me from the world outside. Every time Lord Alistair reprimanded me, it was always in the presence of my parents, King Edmund and Queen Isabella. It was as if he was putting on a performance, his stern voice echoing through the grand hall, his words carefully chosen to please them. It was demeaning, a blatant display of power that left me feeling small and insignificant. But what hurt the most was the realization that my parents were no different. They stood by, silent spectators to Lord Alistair's harsh words. They never intervened, never came to my defense. It was as if they approved of his actions, as if they too believed that I was nothing more than a puppet, a princess who needed to be controlled and disciplined. I remember one particular incident that still stings. I had gotten involved with a young boy my age named Michael, a royal heir from another kingdom. But Michael betrayed me, his sweet words and promises turning out to be nothing more than lies. When I confided in my parents about the betrayal, they chastised me. "You're too young for such matters, Sophia," they had said dismissively. I was sixteen then, old enough to understand my feelings, old enough to know what love and betrayal felt like. But to them, I was still a child, a princess who needed to be shielded from the harsh realities of the world. Their words, like Lord Alistair's, were a painful reminder of why I needed to break free from this cage. A life of royal duties and stifling rules, a life where my feelings and desires were regarded as childish fantasies. Now, at the age of 18, I am finally stepping out of my gilded cage. I was about to embark on a journey with my parents to a new place, a new phase of life. I was excited, my heart fluttering with anticipation. I had never been taken out of the palace in Budakeszi, my entire life had been synchronized to the rhythm of royal duties within its walls. I was dressed in a royal pink gown, my golden hair adorned with a crown. But in my excitement, I realized I had forgotten my diamond earrings. "My earrings!" I exclaimed, rushing back to my room upstairs. As I entered my room, I moved towards the window. Outside, a limousine was ready, surrounded by the royal entourage preparing for the trip. I could see the palace staff bustling about, their faces reflecting a mix of anxiety and excitement. I retrieved my earrings, their diamonds sparkling under the sunlight streaming through the window. As I put them on, I took a moment to look at my reflection in the mirror. The young girl staring back at me was no longer just a princess, she was a young woman ready to embrace the world. I smiled at my reflection, a sense of freedom washing over me. I exhaled deeply, feeling a sense of relief. "I'm free!" I screamed, my voice echoing through the room. I twirled around, my flared gown billowing around me. My heart was light, my spirit unburdened. I clapped my hands, my laughter filling the room. I was celebrating my freedom, a freedom that was not yet mine but felt so real, so tangible. I danced around my room, lost in my world of dreams and hopes. The royal entourage, my parents, the impending journey - everything was forgotten. I was in my own world, a world where I was free, where I was not Princess Sophia Marigold but just Sophia. But my celebration was cut short by a knock on the door. The sound jolted me back to reality. I had been in my room for over an hour, just picking my earrings. My parents and the royal entourage were waiting for me downstairs. I hurried to the door, my heart pounding in my chest. As I opened the door, I found myself face to face with one of the royal guards. He stood there, his expression stoic, waiting for me to step out so he could lock the door. I stepped out of the room, my head held high. But inside, I was a whirlwind of emotions. I was super excited about the journey, even though it was yet to begin. ***** Seated in the limousine, I watched as my parents approached. The king and queen coming in majestically. My mother's silver hair was neatly coiffed, her gown flowing majestically as she walked and so did my father, with his distinguished gray hair, hold her arm, guiding her towards the limousine. But my mother wasn't finished. She paused, turning to Lord Alistair who was standing nearby. With a wave of her hand, she beckoned him over. "Alistair, help me with my leg," she commanded, her voice echoing in the stillness. Lord Alistair, ever the obedient servant, rushed to her side. He gently lifted her leg, assisting her into the limousine. His actions were swift and practiced, a clear indication of his years of service to the royal family. Meanwhile, I was tucked away in the corner of the limousine, trying to make myself as inconspicuous as possible. I didn't want to draw attention to myself, didn't want to be a part of this royal madness for now. And so the limousine started to move. As the limousine glided through the streets, I found myself lost in a world of dreams. I was no longer in the confines of the limousine, but in the vibrant city of Budapest. I could see the bustling markets, hear the lively chatter of the locals, and feel the energy of the city pulsating around me. In my mind's eye, I saw myself walking through the city streets, free and unburdened. I saw myself trying local delicacies, laughing with the locals, and exploring hidden corners of the city. I saw myself dancing in the city square, my laughter echoing through the streets. I saw myself standing on the banks of the Danube, the wind in my hair, a sense of peace washing over me. I imagined meeting new people, forming new friendships, and experiencing a life far removed from the royal duties and stifling rules of the palace. I saw myself falling in love, not like the one with Michael, but in a mature kind this time.
