Chapter Three

All nine of the guys said their 'heys' to each other and gave one-another a 'guy hug'. I started walking away, In the direction of the tour bus. I didn't say anything to the guys from DragonsFire because I would more than likely say something incredibly stupid and end up turning as red as a strawberry.

I don't think so.

These guys ARE my idols and hell will freeze over before I will make myself look like a complete retard in front of them. Before I got anywhere, My phone rang, I squinted my eyes and let out a fed-up sigh. My ring tone was Dragons Fire's song, Afterlife. Great.

This isn't embarrassing at all.

I turned my head to face the guys. ALL of them snapped their heads in my direction, They had heard my ring tone go off. Well, Who wouldn't? It was on full blast. Just in case Luke tried to ring me when I was next to the stage. I turned my volume up so I would hear it and I guess I forgot to turn it back down again. Thank god it was dark out or they would have seen me blushing.

Great, These guys probably think I'm a stalker now. I put the phone to my ear as I answered it. Not bothering to check the caller ID. I knew it was Luke. Right on time.

'Hey, Luke. What's up?' I asked before he could say anything. BIG MISTAKE.

'Luke? It's your mother. Why did you think it was Luke? You're with him. Are you not?' She asked in a wondering tone.

My eyes shot to James, As all the guys were still looking at me. My mouth was hanging open, Realising this, I closed it again. There was silence on the other end of the phone.

'Katie. I asked you a question'. She said, Sounding a bit annoyed now.

James just looked at me, Eyebrows raised, Wondering why I look like I have just seen a ghost. I mouthed the words 'It's my mom'. His eyes widened at me. Rhys and the other guys said something to James. He leaned over, Nodding in my direction and told them what was going on.

All their eyes shot to me, Holding panic and worry. While the Dragonfire guys just stood there confused. Michael leaned over and was about to say something when James shot his head around and put his finger over his lips, Telling him to remain quiet.

James looked back at me and mouthed; 'Loudspeaker'. I nodded and put the phone onto loud speaker so he could hear what was being said on the other end of the phone.

'Ummmmm...No, I'm not with Luke at the moment mom' I said, As James' eyes widened at me, He stepped forwards but I put my hand up telling him to hold on. 'I'm with Abi at the moment, Mom' I lied. 'We're just hanging at Jake's house.' Jake was Abi's boyfriend. My mom knew this.

'I thought you were staying at Luke's all weekend?'

'Yeah, I was but she invited me over so...You know. Then Jake came down at picked us up. Her parents were already asleep' I lied again.

'Oh, Ok' She didn't sound convinced. I bit my lip rings, Nervously.

'Ummmmm......Abi and Jake said hey' I said, Trying to fill the silence.

'Oh, Well let me say hello to Abi and Jake then' She said.

I looked up at the men standing before me. 'Ummmm...Abi is busy at the moment, Mom' I said quickly.

'Ok' She dragged the word out longer than necessary. 'Well, Let me say hello to Jake then. I've never met him before so I would feel rude not saying hello now' I paused. 'Is there something wrong, Katie?' She said. She knew I was lying and she knew she had caught me out. But just as I was about to give up and tell her the truth, Ollie stepped forward, Coming towards me.

As the phone was on loudspeaker, I held my hand out, Not sure what was going on. He just stood there in front of me as he started to speak.

'Hey, Mrs.....; He paused and looked up at me. I quickly mouthed him with my last name. The pause was too quick for my mom to suspect anything. '......Walker. How are you?'.

'Oh, Oh very well. Thank you, Jake.' I smiled as I heard her stutter. She defiantly didn't expect this.

'Cool. I'm sorry I kidnapped Katie and Abi tonight. I promise to keep them safe.' He looked down at me and smiled. I couldn't help but smile back. Then...He winked. Wait, Is Ollie Butler lying to my mom to cover my ass.

WAIT.

Did Ollie Butler just wink at me? It's weird, I didn't even think Ollie is fit or good looking, but I was still flattered. I mean, I'm not saying he's ugly or anything but I don't like him in that way.

'Oh, Ok Jake. Thank you'

'That's, Um, Quite alright. I have to go now. But it was nice talking to you. Bye' He said as he walked away, Back over to the guys to stand next to Tom. I saw James put his hand on Ollie's shoulder and say thank you. He just nodded.

'Hey, Mom it me. I have to go now. But I will see you after school on Monday' I said.

'Ok. Sure. Goodnight'

'Night mom. Tell dad I love him'

In the background, I heard my dad say mumble something. I smiled. He heard me. I hung up the phone but before the guys could say anything, I was dialling another number. My mobile was still on speakerphone.

Hello' A very happy voice said on the other end.

'Hey, Abi. It's me'

'Lewis!' She screamed down the phone at me. My eyes quickly shot to Arron who looked at me. He was...Giggling and had a smile on his face. I just looked away.

'Hey, Listen. My mom just phoned. So if she phones you, You know, Okay. I told her you and Jake kidnapped me'.

'Ok, Sure. Ask now, Explain later. That's my policy.' I could hear the smile in her voice.

'Its the best policy, Abs' I said 'Okay, Will do. Oh, and could you text Luke an-' I didn't even have time to finish my sentence before she interrupted me.

'I'll tell him. Night b***h' She said. I smiled.

'Night, b***h' I said back 'Love you'

'Love you too' She replied. I heard Jake in the background say something like; 'Hey, You're my girlfriend'. She replied to with comment with; 'Hey, Vic will always be my lover, You know that'

'Fine. But I get to watch sometimes. I'm sure James has the same policy' Oh yeah, Jake knows about me and James too, He's even met him once or twice. I looked over at James who just stood there biting his lip, Trying not to smile. It didnt work at all. The DragonFire guys just stood there, staring at me, mouths hanging open. Me and Abi just burst out laughing.

'See you Monday, Babe' She said.

'See you' I said back before hanging up the phone. I sighed a sigh of relief as the guys walked over to me.

'Ok. Well, guys, This is Katie' James said. I suddenly realised I hadn't introduced myself. How rude of me. I smiled at the DragonFire guys and gave them a little wave.

'Hi Katie, I'm Michael' Michael said, 'This here is Liam, Aaron, Ollie and Tom' He said pointing to all the guys as he said their name As if I don't know who they are. 'But...Ummm...Judging by your very loud ringtone....I'm guessing you knew that.' I nodded and blushed.

We made our way back to the bus and got on. We all sat down around the table as we started driving out of the festival grounds and towards the hotel. Weird. The Dragon guys didn't take their bus. Hmmm...I shrugged the thought off.

'So.....What was that all about, then' Michael asked, Looking at me with a smile. God, That man has the cutest dimples ever!. I looked at James and he looked at me. He turned to face the guys and started to explain.

'Oh, Katie is my girlfriend. Her parents aren't exactly happy about it. She told her mom and dad she was spending the whole weekend at her brother's house so she could come here, Her brothers covering for her too. He's happy she's happy, You know' He smiled at me before finishing his explanation. 'She answered her phone thinking it was Luke as he calls her every couple of hours or so, Just to make sure she's ok. Not that I would let anything happen to her in the first place. But it was her mom, So she said she was at her friend's house, Who also knows about us. And that's about it, I think.' He said shrugging.

The Dragon guys looked back and forth between me and James who have pulled me up by my arm, Careful of course, And sat me on his lap.

'So......' Tom started, Causing us all to look over at him, '.....You two are dating?.......' He said, Pointing a finger back and forth between me and James, but still looked a little confused. What is his problem? I asked myself. Not out loud, Of course.

For the first time in what seemed like forever I spoke up. The guys were still looking at me sitting on James' lap. I could tell I was blushing as he said that.

'Yeah....' I started saying before Liam cut me off.

'Oh, That makes the 'James' policy too' Thing make sense' Liem said Before he realised what he had done and apologised. I continued.

'But it's a secret so can we trust you guys to keep it that way'. I asked them.

They all looked at each other and shrugged.

'Of course' They all said at once which was a little creepy but, Oh well. I looked at Ollie, Who was looking in my direction.

'Thank you' I said to him, So quietly that it might as well have been a whisper.

'For what' He asked with a smile but slightly confused.

'For before, You know, Pretending to be Jake on the phone' I told him.

'Oh...That's Ok.' he said smiling. I smiled.

'Well. Thanks anyway' I said, smiling as I turned back to James and looked him in the eyes, He just looked back into mine. He leaned forward and kissed me, Not at all bothered by the surrounding men staring at us. They started whistling. I pulled away quickly and blushed.

'Awwww.....Shut up, guys...You're making her blush' Aaron said but in a baby voice. I could tell he was smiling. I could hear it in his voice, Even if I didn't look up to check. But it just caused me to blush even more.

James leaned forward again but this time he went past my face to my ear to whisper something to me. I couldn't hear properly over the sounds of the guys laughing and talking but I did hear James chuckle in my ear and say something that sounded like;

'Close Call.'
