Chapter Twenty-One The pounding in Jackson's head mimicked the rhythm of the yellow flashing streetlights. Traffic had been horrendous getting back into the city from the prison. He looked down at his dead cell phone. He hadn't charged it after Warwick handed the device to him earlier, so he couldn't call to let anyone know he was running late for dinner. His mother would be pissed again. All he wanted was the feel of his woman in his arms, and then the taste of his mother's cooking in his belly.
