Chapter Twenty-Two Lucia walked aimlessly down the city streets. The cold nipped at her bare arms. She wasn't sure what she missed more; Jackson's embrace or his discarded coat. The signs of the city were not like that of the forests. There were too many lights that blurred the direction of the guiding stars. The streets were numbered, but some numbers were skipped over. Some streets were actual numerals. Others were numbers spelled out in words. She didn't understand how there could be a Second Street at First Avenue. None of it mattered. She had no place to go.
