"Mrs. Joan, I am truly sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I thought you should know." said Attorney Louis Carter, who has been the family's personal attorney for the last ten years.
"I can't believe that son of mine. On second thought.... Yes I can. He truly is going to be the death of me. Thank you so much, Mr. Louis, for bringing this to my attention." voiced Mrs. Joan Thornton, shaking her head, caught between wanting to laugh and cry at her son's latest antics against actually taking time away from work to look for true love.
All Mrs. Joan Thornton ever wanted for her only son was a good healthy balance between his work and personal life. However, Klay is nothing short of a workaholic and has become even worse now that his father, Archie, has completely retired.
"So what are you going to do, Ms. Joan?" asked Mr. Louis, hoping she would step in and talk some sense into her arrogant son.
"What I always do keep bringing good, wholesome girls from good families to meet him. I am positive that eventually one will catch his eye. In the meantime, I want you to pick someone completely out of the question, not from a prominent family, or someone that graduated from an Ivy League School. Make him feel stupid for even considering finding a life partner in this manner. This shouldn't be too hard for you. Especially since Klay is leaving the picking up to you and doesn't plan to see his potential bride until she is in his actual living room." replied Mrs. Joan, shaking her head with a chuckle.
"Are you sure that is a good course of action?" probed Mr. Louis as he considered Mr. Klay's bad temper.
"Positive! Do it and just let me know the minute the young lady arrives at my son's doorsteps. Thank you for keeping me updated on my son. Have a good rest of your day." answered Mrs. Joan, smiling at Mr. Louis and standing up in order to walk him to the front door.
"Will do! Have a good day. It was good to see you as always." conveyed Mr. Louis as he grabbed his briefcase and strolled out the front door.
