SMOKE & MIRRORS

1900 Words

Carrington P.O.V. Denver, Colorado (Mile High City) It's late on Sunday, December 14th. Klay and I are back in his hometown preparing for our upcoming wedding. I am so excited, but not about our uninvited house guest. Phoebe, his so -called adopted little sister, has just announced she will be staying with us for a few days. Before Klay could speak, I said, "Well, it would have been nice to ask instead of assuming that it was okay to overstay your welcome. Klay and I really like our privacy and didn't plan on entertaining guests in our home as we prepare for our upcoming nuptials." Immediately, Phoebe started crying and begging us to let her stay. Phoebe promised to not be a bother at all. Klay gave in but then said it was up to me. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at them.
