Chapter 4Austin collapsed on the motel bed. His back hit the faded, blue plaid bedspread with boneless satisfaction, long legs dangling uselessly off the end. There were a lot of things he should be doing. He should take off his coat and boots. He should hang his wet pants to dry. He should check if Maddox needed help with his hand. He should think about the entire mess of his day and what he was going to do next.
