Chapter 3The next several miles passed in silence. Austin’s belly strained just this side of uncomfortably full, and despite the caffeine hit, he felt drowsy with the combination of the truck’s heater and the inevitable adrenaline crash from the roller coaster of his day. With the long drive still ahead, he would love to sleep for a couple of hours, but despite the thoughtful gestures so at odds with Maddox’s gruff personality, Austin hadn’t quite made up his mind about his driver.
