Chapter-07

“Yeah, what are you doing here?” Gloria asks nervously.

Lia tried to see inside but Gloria block her view with her body and act it was unintentional.

“That doesn’t matter. Let me visit aunt as I am already here.” She said and tried to push the door but Gloria stopped her again.

“Doctor is doing some test on her. No visitors allowed for now.” Gloria lied in a hurry.

But Lia was not a fool.

She understood Gloria was trying to hide something, and how could she let her win?

“I will just see her from afar. I won’t disturb the doctor.” She said and try to push herself inside the door but in the nick of time, a person called her.

“Lia, where did you disappear? Your Doctor was asking for you.” Lia turn around in annoyance but when she noticed David she tried to change her tactics.

“Oh, David, see who is here. I didn’t meet my cousin for five years, so when I saw her, I couldn’t stop myself from talking to her.” Lia said and walk toward him.

She wrapped her arm over him intimately and thought David frowned but he didn’t push her away.

Though Lia knew it was not what David wanted, she was happy seeing her sour face and how he didn’t push him like always.

Though Gloria has admitted David is no longer her but seeing them so intimate hurt her a lot.

After all, he was her only love and husband, too.

His betrayal still pinched her like a needle and cut her heart into million pieces.

“Gloria, David, won’t you greet each other? Do I need to introduce you now?” Lia said in a joking tone, but it felt like mockery to Gloria.

But she was not ready to give them the satisfaction of winning after cheating on her, so she took the initiative.

“Hello, Mr. Collin. Nice to see you.” Gloria said still standing in her face.

Her indifference didn’t surprise David, but still, it hurt him.

“Hello, miss white. Nice to see you too.” David said without any emotion.

“Oh, Gloria, I have an appointment with my gynecologist. Please excuse us. Let's meet some other time.” Lia said and walk out with David.

“Gynaecologist?” Gloria muttered and noticed their departing back.

She couldn’t hold her tears and walk inside the room and let them flow freely.

How she wished her tears could wash out her pain.

But how could her wound heal when someone constantly pulled it?

“Mom, why are you crying? Did the doctor scold you?” Daniel’s sweet voice make her come out of her misery and she wiped her tears hurriedly.

“No, Mom just hit her toes outside.” She tried to cover up.

“Come here.” Daniel motioned with her hand and she walked toward her and sit beside him.

Daniel get off his seat and opened her slippers.

Then she blows in her toes.

“It won’t hurt anymore. I have blown in it.” Daniel said making her chuckle in tears.

She pulled him in a tight hug and her all pain run away.

“It doesn’t matter how much my heart hurt. My son is everything to me. I will protect him.” She promised herself.

She won’t let those people’s evil shadows fall on his innocence.

“Let's go. We will come here later.” Gloria got up and take Daniel’s hand to walk out.

She didn’t want to stay here anymore.

She can’t afford to bump into David again.

It won’t take him twice to recognize Daniel as he was the spitting image of him.

And now when they are starting their family she didn’t want her son to suffer in between his parents.

It’s better if they never get to know each other.

Gloria walk out through the back door and left the hospital hurriedly.

When Mr white noticed them returning so early, he wanted to ask Gloria what happened as her granddaughter liked to spend time with her mother.

According to Gloria, she wanted to spend as much time as possible with her mother as didn’t want her to feel alone even though she was vegetative.

But when he noticed her depressed face, he stopped herself.

“Old man, come here.” He called Daniel and Daniel scoffs at him and walks toward Mrs white.

“Beautiful, tell oldie I am not old he is old.” He complained, and the couple chuckled.

Gloria walked upstairs, leaving them behind.

“Don’t mind him. He has grown old so his eyesight has worsened. That’s why he can’t see my great-grandson is a handsome man.” She said and Daniel humped in arrogance.

“So what happened to your mom?” he ask calmly when she noticed Gloria has left.

“Mom said she hit her toes. But I have blown on them. She will be fine soon.” He replied innocently but the couple exchanged a look and Mr white clenched his fist angrily.

They know who can rile her up in this entire world.

He was just tolerating them because she didn’t want him to hurt that man.

Otherwise, he would have disappeared from this city long back.

“Go and have some rest. I have made some pudding for you. I will bring that to your room.” The lady replied and the boy run up excitedly.

“Honey, don’t lose your temper. God will surely punish them.” The lady comfort her husband though her heart was bleeding too.

After what happened that year they have announce Lia was not part of their family, how could they forgive her when she ruined her cousin’s marriage?

But they did nothing to David because of Gloria.

But how could they let him take away her peace?

Didn’t they do enough damage already?

When will they let her go?

“Diana, I wanted to kill that bastard with my hand.” Mr white replied with gritted teeth.

“I know, I also wanted to ask him why he did that to her. My baby. Though she doesn’t let us see what is in her mind, I know she was hurting from inside.” Diana replied and lean on his husband’s arm.

They had never felt so helpless before.
