Part 5: Elite status

812 Words
“Less distracting? What does that mean?” Someone a few stools away from us called her name. She turned back and looked at me and shrugged her shoulders. “Hey look, I have to get back to work but he is waiting for you.” And she walked away. She said that so calmly but that only made me question it more. My brows furrowed in confusion. What the hell is she talking about? Who is waiting for me? I tried to call her name a couple of times, but it seemed like the bar was getting busy all over again. I looked at the card in my hand and read the inscription on it. “Elite status on the second floor. This card only admits 1.” Tsk, Really? So, they think I’m going up there without my girls? What is so important that you have to have a special card to get in? And why me? Who was this man that was waiting for me? I had so many questions and I wanted answers. I was curious about the second floor. What was the big secret? After about ten minutes of pondering over it, I let curiosity get the best of me and before I knew it, I was walking up the stairs to the double doors with the numerous guards. One of the guards looked at me and raised his eyebrow. “Can I help you?” He asked. “Um, I think so, I was told that someone was waiting for me inside.” Then I showed him the card. He looked at it and nodded his head. Without looking or turning towards the door, he reached behind him and opened it for me. All of a sudden, I started feeling nervous. I walked in past the door and looked back at the guard. He was watching me go in but now he had a smile on his face. “I hope you enjoy yourself!” and he closed the door, leaving me in this hallway by myself. Up here it was Definitely different. It was like a circular hallway with doors that lead to different rooms. I didn't know which door I was supposed to go into until I looked back at the card. On the back of the card it read “go to room 212.” My mind was racing. I had no idea what was going to happen to me up here. I didn't want to assume the worst, so I blew out a breath and decided to just go along with it but be prepared for anything.  I thought about Autumn, and although I didn't know her very well, I figured that she wouldn't send me to someone who was evil or had bad intentions. Will I reach door 212 panic started to sink in. What if I was wrong? I didn't know her well enough to know if  she would send me to someone that was bad or not, but I didn't think she would do it. Right beside the door was a small table. It had a plaque that said “take one” with a box of wrapped masquerade masks. Why would we need masks up here? It made me curious. And I was still a little apprehensive, but I decided to grab one of the white masks that had fur around the sides. I took my mask out of the wrapper and put it on. I don't know why but I've had a feeling that tonight was going to be a hell of a ride. I opened the door and it was a beautifully decorated room that had a huge window that overlooked the club on the first floor where my friends still were. It was like a smaller dance floor with a small bar in the corner. there were quite a few people in here, not as many as the one downstairs, but there were people in here. It looked like a VIP room for people who just didn't want to be bothered by a lot of people and everybody in here had a mask on. I went to go look out the window to see if I could see my friends when a very strong hand touched my shoulder. I turned around and there was this extremely attractive man behind me. Granted, he did have a mask on, but I could still tell that he was very attractive. He was much taller than me. He had to be a little over 6 feet tall. His jaw line was so strong. His lips were shaped nicely between his trimmed facial hair. But it was his eyes that made him stand out. His body was covered in an expensive designer suit; it fit his body a little too well. His eyes were an intense blue color that were being enhanced by his black mask. His gaze was taking my breath away. He had the kind of eyes that made me think of Damon from Vampire Diaries. They were intense!
