ChapterONE
Maya's Pov I stared in amusement at what Dickson, my boyfriend was doing. Having s*x with a b***h on our bed!? I was damn speechless and astonished at the same time as my eyes were bloodshot red, my feet went cold as ice and I felt my immune system shut down. He acted like I was sawdust and invisible and that made me get mad shimmers. The room was at a constant temperature but I was in a heavy bead of sweat and anger as I balled my fist. It felt as if my brain went shut down because I lost my words as my eyes widened. My heart ached for the hundredth time as I felt a c***k up in me. I mustered the courage and strength to mutter words. "Dick... Dickson" I called as I finally released the tears she's been holding up trickle down. He never even felt any string of remorse and neither did the shameless b***h. I blamed myself for still being a virgin and depriving him of s*x. If only I had let him have his way with him then maybe I guess this stupid childish act of his would end, but no. Dickson is an ass-wipe! I sniffed, rubbing my eyes to act so strong but within me, I knew I was like a wounded soldier with an injured heart. He grinned creepily at me and I huffed as I turned my back to stop myself from watching the disgusting scene again. I gazed at the naked woman with my man and my heart was filled with fire and brimstone. Was this lady even prettier than me? My stomach made a proof sound and I felt the urge to throw up. What I just witnessed was enough to make me throw up ten times and I know my staying here another minute would make me do the unimaginable. I staggered towards the entrance door as I heard my boyfriend call after him but I continued to ignore. What do I need to waste another minute here for? That's how it has been since I started living with Dickson. Throwing tantrums here and there wasn't only his calling, but also cheating on me with different horses. I ran away from home with hot tears streaming out of my eyes. It wasn't the fact that he cheated, but it was the fact that he played ignorant. I stroll down to the usual place I find solace. Yeah, I mysteriously find peace whenever I visit the park. I was still strolling through the park, trying to forget about Dickson when someone caught my attention. I stared intently at him from afar trying to reminisce about where I'd met him before. He was on a phone call so he wasn't looking at me. I decided to walk over to him, and just that moment he turned to my angle, I froze as our eyes met. My eyes widened at once when I saw him fully. Alexander Stone. It's him, it's him! He hung up on the call he was making, inserting his phone back in his pants pocket as he threw a warm smile at him. He hasn't changed one bit, he's still the same Alex I knew two years ago at the bar I was serving. His dark hair, and piercing green eyes, gave him a tempting hot look. "Hi, Maya," He said and smiled at me again, my heart skipped a beat. Wait, did I just say skipped? It went on gallop! I moved closer to him and tried not to smile awkwardly as I sat beside him on the bench. His cologne filled my nostrils and I loved the feeling it gave out. Then I said, "Hi, Alexander. It's been a long time" He chuckled and played with his thumb a little before focusing back on me. I tried avoiding eye contact with him, but his stares were just so hard to refuse. He even became more handsome. "Yeah, it's been so long and we didn't even come in contact with each other after that occurrence at the bar. How have you been, Maya?" He asked, trying not to act formerly but friendly. "I'm fine, you?" I replied, anticipating his next response. I don't know, but suddenly I was happy I came here at the right moment. What if I came here late and I didn't get to meet my old friend? He rubbed his temple and looked at the city skyline. From the side of his eyes and expression, I knew something was wrong. But what was it? I asked, "What's wrong Alex?". It felt like I just broke him out of his thoughts because he got his eyes back on me again. He forced a smile at me which I already it was a forced smile. I reached out to him and held his right arm slowly as the cool breeze blew my troublesome hair. He looked down at my hand attached to his arm and he just smiled. I smiled at him. "You aren't replying, how can I help you?" I asked, and what followed next was a deafening silence. Alexander's eyes darkened as he remembered the one-night stand at his office party and the one-night stand that had been the start of his company's downfall. He had been drunk, and he had made a terrible mistake. And now he was paying the price. His image was in tatters, and his company was on the brink of collapse. And it was all his fault. I blinked whilst waiting for his next response. He suddenly entwined my hands with his, and I stared at him in suspense. "Maya..." He trailed. He stood up slowly and gently bent over in front of me, I gulped hard watching him with keen interest. "W-what are you doing Alexander?" I asked. Well, this was sudden. What the heck is he trying to do? My thoughts were rammed short when I heard the next bombshell. "W...w...what?!" I stammered in a whisper. "Marry me," He repeated, and it felt as if my ears closed shut, and my lips sealed. "Marry me, Maya. That's the only help I need right now" He said with boldness written in his eyes, and the next thing I knew was my hand meeting with his face. "Did I just slap him...?"
