NORA
I opened my eyes lazily and glanced at the bed, and he was still sleeping fine. My back was pressed against him with his soft breathing fanning my neck.
I pulled out of his grasp slowly and came down searching for my purse. My head was still hazy, but I managed and found my purse at the other side of the room.
I reached for my phone, and there were lots of missed calls with some texts, including that of Damon.
Must this guy go to any extent to trouble me? I walked back and lay in the same position that I was in earlier. I raised the bedsheet up on us and raised my phone up, taking countless selfies.
After I was done and satisfied, I crawled down and put on my clothes. Thank God he isn’t the type to shred them to pieces.
I glanced at him one last time and left the room limping badly. I just returned, so sleeping out of the house today won’t be good.
After leaving the premises, I walked down the road, then stopped and called my dad’s driver, telling him to come pick me up.
“Mi lady!” He honked the car parked in front of me. I limped forward and got into the car with my head resting in the seat.
I was so sore, like mad.
Sooner the car came parking in our compound, and I came down dragging my feet inside.
I couldn’t walk straight, so I limped. The party was over, and everyone had returned to their various rooms.
“Nora?” I heard my name softly. I halted in my steps and slowly turned around.
“Mom!” I called back with a plastered smile.
“Where have you been? We've been worried.” My mom said, scrutinizing me from head to toe.
“Some of my old friends came around, so I hung out with them,” I lied, but my mom’s eyes on me showed she wasn’t buying what I just said.
“I will be in my room. Good night, Mom!” I turned back and climbed the stairs, trying to keep my walk steady so my mom wouldn’t notice anything.
“Uffff…” I fell on my bed with my legs stretched widely for air to enter.
No. 1, find a bad boy
No 2, tease him and have fun with him
No 3, leave without dropping any information about you. If he likes you, then he will come to you. If he doesn't, then move on to the next don’t beg anyone.
But can I ever find another bad boy like him?
And as for Damon, who’s going to be teasing who now?.
It was morning already. I woke up and still felt sore, so I managed to take my bath and headed downstairs.
“The shares are really going up, bigger companies are now relying on us with their money!” I overheard my dad say as they sat at the dining table.
“That’s pretty good!” I chimed in as all eyes fell on me.
“Good morning, Dad!” I greeted.
“Morning, my dear!”
“Good morning mom!”
“Morning darling”
“Emma!”
“Good morning, sis!” She greeted.
I grabbed a chair and sat down, serving myself immediately.
“Where were you last night? Everyone was searching for you; where did you head to?” Emma questioned.
I rolled my eyes inwardly. Must she bring up these matter?
“I…I..I left with some of my OGs who came around last night,” I said, still sticking to my old lie.
“And you didn’t bother picking up your calls; Dad was about to introduce you to everyone,” Emma said, making me feel bad for not being present.
“I’m sorry, Dad, I should have stayed behind,” I apologized.
“It’s okay, there’s always another day, which is today. Your mom and I will be attending a friend’s son’s wedding tonight, so you and your sister will go over to the Mr. Wilson party tonight,” my dad announced.
“Another party?” Since when did my parents start accepting to show up at events like this?
“That’s how we roll here, sisi,” Emma said.
Gosh! Since when?
“Don’t you attend parties in Italy? Then how do you keep on receiving those business awards?” My mom questioned.
“I don’t attend, my P A. does it all for me,” I replied, sipping from my cup of tea.
“Wow…what an introverted being,” Emma said as I threw her a slice of bread.
“So guys, my boyfriend will be coming over next weekend!” Emma flaunts her hair with a smile plastered on her face.
“Ohh…so what’s he intending on doing?” I questioned.
“Come on, sis, don’t be so rude, show my man some respect—at least he deserves that,” Emma said with an annoying voice.
What’s with her? How did I even sound rude?
“What? But I wasn’t downgrading him, or was I?”
“Yes, you were. Anytime I speak about my boyfriend, you tend to act so rudely, like I’m at fault that no man is picking interest in you.” Emma scoffed.
I paused on my food and stared at her with a mixed feeling. Ever since she got herself a boyfriend, she has been throwing words at me for not having any man.
Do they all think I’m still into Damon?
“Is there something obviously wrong with you? Why do you keep shading me because you have a man and I don’t? Is it now a crime to be single?” I ranted.
Damn, I was pissed already. My sister keeps saying nonsense words that will actually get you provoked.
“I didn’t say it’s a crime to not have one; I just want you to at least respect my man even if he isn’t our class level because he’s respectful and nice, unlike your ex Damon that you refused to let go of!” Emma stood up and walked upstairs.
“Emma?” My parents called after her.
I sighed whilst shaking my head. My sister just exchanged words with me over nothing. I can’t even find any rude remark here, and she said I haven't let go of Damon.
So this is what they all think, including Damon himself.
“Nora?”
“What did I say to her? Am I even aware that our level is higher than her boyfriend's level? I just want you both to do one thing for me and warn your daughter to not say anything about my relationship status ever again, and as for Damon, nobody should mention anything about him to me again. We’re done and done, we are.” I stood up and also left the dining table.
If she’s angry, then I’m angry too.
I’m going to prove to them all that I’m over that stupid ex of mine called Damon.
