NORA “I think you should head to your branch, you haven’t been there since it’s been established so just go there for yourself and see how thing is over there” My mother suggested. Yeah! I haven’t been there, and it was established early last year by my manager and Dad. I really needed to go maybe I might be going there while I’m here to keep myself busy for the time being. “Ok mom, I will head there. See you both later” I stood up and headed out of the living room. I wanted to drive in the car I took before, but I said no, the bankers at Italy are quite lovely and polite, and I’ve tested some of them before, but I haven’t tested the ones here to know how generous they are. So I will have to go looking like a pauper that means they will be an outfit change. I ran back inside and took off my coat warring a plain one then I changed my jean to an old dirty jean. That’s the design tho, but one wouldn’t know it’s from Prada. I picked one of my dullest glass and ran down back. I scattered my hair, so I would like one from the street. I didn’t used a car and book a taxi instead. “St Avenue street” I told the taxi driver and he immediately started driving. It took quite a while to get there. And I almost slept in the car, but it was my brain who kept waking me up with the aim of don’t trust anyone. “We’re here ma’am” The taxi driver announced. “Thank you!” I stepped out and piled out the last cash on my pulse before handling it over to him. “But ma’am this too much, my charge is just 2 dollars” The man said returning the rest money. “It’s okay sir, you can keep it. I won’t get broke, I owned this place” I pointed at the bank and man opened his mouth in shock. “Are you Ms Nora Brown?” He questioned and I nodded. “Have a nice day sir,” I waved at him and started stepping into the place when my eyes fell on Damon standing outside the gate. What’s he doing here? Was he kicked out or what? “Nora?” He called my name walking towards me. “No…” Before his hands could touch me I dodged him and ran inside the compound. I stared at the building towered above. It was very beautiful and so neat. I pushed my glasses firmly before walking towards the building. I stepped inside the building and it was magnificent. They were people on the lobby and their eyes fell on me instantly. They didn’t greet, they didn’t wave just stared at me with disgust on their eyes especially the staffs attending to people. Don’t they recognized me by the way? I have had general calls meeting with them and I know my dressing might be hideous right now but that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t be able to recognized me their boss. I pulled my gaze away from them and walked directly inside. Each of the staffs were sited on their seats with customers waiting on the lobby area for them to be called on. I stood and stared at each place, it was okay. The interiors were of my taste and likes, and it was very perfect. “May I help you ma’am?” I heard a voice from behind and I turned around and saw a young girl of my age grade standing in front of me. “Huh… I’m here for…” “What’s a girl like her doing here?” Someone shouted from the counter and my eyes sprinted towards her. It was another girl of also same age grade with me. “Look at her? We don’t allow cheap customers in here, I’m sorry, but you have to leave” The girl spoke very rudely and a smile grew at the corner of my lips. “Do you know what I’m here for?” I questioned my hands folded across my chest. “Nobody cares, just leave now, before our boss sees you here!” Another joined in, this one looked a bit older…maybe she’s close to her 30s. “Stop it guys, why would you be telling her to leave. Boss told us that irrespective of the way the look they should all be treated fairly so why asking her to leave?” The same girl who approached me earlier scolded. “Stop trying to be the good girl here Lisa, she looks like one who’s here to steal so she should leave now” Another girl chimed in, and now they’re three girls in total. “Great!” I muttered under my breath. “What are you standing here for?” Damon’s voice broke in and I rolled my eyes. Can this guy just disappear for once? “Welcome Mr Damon Hawk!” They all chorused. Guess someone is a good client in my bank. “How may I help you sir?” The girl standing close to me asked and Damon’s eyes narrowed on me. His eyes moved around my body before a frown found his face. “Why…” “Just shut up?” I immediately placed my hands on his lips stopping him from saying any more words. He looked at me bewildered before grabbing my hands and yanked me forward while his other hands gripped my waist firmly. “What…what…what are you doing?” I asked trying to pull myself away from him. “Am I doing anything wrong? I’m just trying to get close to my bride” His lips stretched to a smile and I frowned. “Bride? I will never be your bride!” I spat angrily. “Mr Damon, how may we help you?” The girl from the counter questioned annoyingly, and I immediately pulled myself away from him. “I have seen you as a man of high class so why are you playing with this dirty girl?” The other one couldn’t hide how disgusted she was spat it out. “Dirty girl?” Damon asked confusedly. “Yes, yes Mr Damon…she’s a pauper” “Ohh you mean her? Do you all know who you’re talking to?” Damon chuckled liking what was going on. “She’s nothing but just a dirty girl from the street!” They all laughed and Damon stared at me with a look of ‘Ohh your own workers said you’re poor’ I looked away from him and my eyes landed straight on my Manager who was stepping out of the elevator. We locked gaze with each other, and he immediately leaped forward. “Ms Nora!” He called loudly, and the place utterly went silent. “Ms Nora is here?” One of them wondered aloud. “Ms Nora? You never informed us you were coming, we would have thrown a welcome party for you” Manager Ben said standing in front of me and I turned staring at the girls then I muttered, “Busted!” “Oh my God, she’s Ms Nora Brown!” “What have we gotten ourselves into?” “We’re so dead!”
