“They haven't seen you around the Moon Shadow. You didn't go to your other job,” Zach says.
I hold the phone to my ear, wondering who is ‘they.’ Did he send someone to look for me or did he call the Chemist?
"I'm in the clinic," I reply.
"What clinic? What happened?"
I refuse to tell him I fainted. He doesn't have to know my personal business. Plus, I’m feeling fine now.
“Kerris?”
"I'm about to leave the towers."
"Wait there. Milo will come get you." He hangs up before I can protest.
The idea of seeing him causes warm anticipation to rise inside me. Going to him is far more appealing that returning to the pack and having Alpha Ty send for me.
