CHAPTER TWO Anna’s POV All I prayed for was that it wasn’t him—the one person who had made my life a living hell. But no one called me “little kitten” except him. Sometimes, I think he’s a psychopath. I shivered as I turned to face him. The one I feared the most… had already trapped me against my locker. “Miss me already, kitten?” he said with a devilish smirk. “No… leave me alone!” I tried to sound bold for once in my life, but it came out weak—like a kitten begging for its life. He seemed taller and more built than before. And somehow, I felt smaller every time I stood near him. Evan. Yes… that was the name of the person who made my life miserable. I didn’t even know what I had done to deserve this. He bullied me every single day, and even the school officials didn’t care. Why would they? I was nobody—no status, no influence… and worst of all, a human. While he was the son of a multi-billionaire Alpha. His father donated huge sums to the school and sat on the board. He ruled the wolf pack. So whenever Evan did something wrong, money always covered it up. I wouldn’t deny it—Evan was insanely handsome. He would definitely rank first as the most handsome guy in school. But to me… he was nothing but a monster. Why would someone like him choose to make my life miserable? There were so many beautiful girls he could bother. So why me? “Who would want a slut like you anyway?” he growled. My eyes stung with tears, but I forced them back. Yep… his mouth was still as foul as ever. “Then why are you even with me if I’m a slut? Just leave me alone!” I snapped. One thing about me—I tend to snap when I’m pushed too far. His eyes darkened as he grabbed my hair. “So little kitten has some guts now,” he said coldly. “Let me go…” I whispered weakly, trying to free myself. Evan smacked his lips in amusement. “Tsk, tsk… little kitten, you seem to forget—you’re my errand girl.” Errand girl? No. Not anymore. “Excuse me… but I quit.” ✨ Evan’s POV “Excuse me… but I quit?” I stared at the terrified girl who thought she was brave enough to say that and walk away. Where did she even find that courage? No matter… I was about to crush it. “You quit?” I said mockingly. “Is that what you think you’re doing?” “Y-yes… I won’t be doing your homework anymore… or any chores,” she stuttered. Her voice shook so badly. I almost felt sorry for her. Almost. I stepped closer and grabbed her shoulders, pulling her toward me. Her glasses nearly fell off. Good. Be scared. “I never gave you that choice, little kitten. You don’t get to quit unless I say so,” I sneered. “B-but… Evan…” What happened to that boldness from a few seconds ago? “No ‘but.’ Now go get me a soda from the vending machine… and two bags of chips. Hurry up.” I watched as she reluctantly took the money, glaring at me. Her blue eyes… they could kill, if given the chance. “I hate you,” she muttered. I smirked, hands in my pockets, as she walked away. She returned shortly with the items. “Here’s your soda.” I took it with a satisfied smile. “That’s more like it. That’s how an errand girl behaves.” She glared at me. “I told you to stop calling me that! I’m not your pet. I said I quit!” My expression darkened as I pulled her close again. Hearing her say that irritated me more than it should. “What did you just say?” “I said it’s over! I’m done! You can’t keep controlling me!” she cried. Then she broke free… and ran. I didn’t stop her. “The hell…” I muttered. What was wrong with her? The first time I saw Anna Valen, my wolf whispered one word— Mate. Mate? No. She could be my errand girl. But never my mate. I never planned to settle down, and having a human mate? That was embarrassing. I wanted to reject her… but I didn’t want her to know. So I kept her close. As my errand girl. At first, she was just easy to control. Quiet. Weak. Obedient. Perfect. But over time… I realized something. She was… different. She had a small round face, always hidden behind thick glasses. Her long hair was usually tied in two braids. Her fashion sense? Questionable. Nothing like the other girls. And yet… She was kind of cute. Tiny. Timid. But sometimes… unexpectedly fierce. Like a kitten. That’s how the nickname started. No one noticed her. No one helped her. Perfect. Because I didn’t want anyone else near her. Not even another wolf. But it wasn’t just that. She looked like… her. Too much like her. And sometimes, I found myself doing things to Anna that I shouldn’t. She had never stood up to me before. Not until today. I need to find her. Fix that attitude. And put things back the way they were. Master. And servant. She can’t run from me forever. I smirked. “I’ll see you tomorrow, little kitten.”
