Julian replied evenly, "I happened to be with Simon. I figured you were probably calling because of me, so I picked up."
"I was. I wanted to thank you. Yesterday was Zoey's birthday, and you had Mr. Quinn bring little Bolt over especially for her. She loves him. She was so happy."
"I thought she would. Little Bolt may also help draw her gradually out of her shell. The effect may be subtle at first, but small changes add up over time. Given enough time, the results can be surprising."
