"Did I do something wrong? Do you secretly hate me deep in your heart?"
I just had to ask while staring intently at him. I’m really wondering if I did something bad for him to surprise me like this. Is he trying to give me a heart attack? I mean if he is, he actually doesn’t need to try hard. He doesn’t have to surprise me with ‘meeting his parents’. He just needs to stare at me, and I’ll be dead. I know I’m rumbling but…… why is he doing this to me? My heart…….
"What?"
"Don’t answer my question with another question please. I’m asking if you’re mad at me."
He was just staring at me like I'm a patient who was recently discharge from a mental hospital. Wow, is he thinking that I’m crazy? He’s the one who’s crazy enough to bring me to his parents’ house all of a sudden. I feel like my head is going to explode from all the thinking of ways how to kill him right now.
"I'm not mad at you."
"Really? Then why are you doing this to me? oh my god I feel like I’m suffocating because of all the nervousness.”
I glared at him while clutching my chest and breathing heavily. I can feel my blood pressure rising because of this annoying thug!
"It's just my parents," he shrugged his shoulders. "They don't bite."
"Oh really, they don’t bite? Then in that case, I’ll be the one biting and tearing your body into tiny pieces because of what you’re doing to me.”
He just laughed then removed his seatbelt to face me. He was smiling widely like it’s a joke for him that I’m this nervous with meeting his parents. I am not even wearing any make-up! And my outfit? Oh my god I look like someone who would rather stay at home than go out. And I don’t have anything. A gift or food or just literally anything. Oh my god this is going to be a disaster.
"Just breathe," he laughed at me again.
"Tell me, how to breathe again?"
Did I hit my head or something? Because I really am feeling dizzy at this moment. Of course, I want to meet his family, but I wasn't expecting it to be this soon. And I really didn't think that he would introduce me to them! I’m happy but still, the nerves are still there.
"Why are you even scared?"
"Because I’m not ready at all! I feel like I’m going to a war with just my beauty as my weapon,” I was hysterical but he’s just laughing at me.
"Hon," he held both my cheeks. "I'm here for you. Whether they approve of our relationship or not, I love you. There is no one in this world that can change my mind. And besides, I see no reason for them to not like you," he added.
I believe in him because I believe in everything he says. Just thinking about the possibility of his family not liking me is already breaking my heart. That would be a cliché drama plot, but it happens in real life too. Maybe I look so sullen and nervous because when I look at Silas, his forehead is already creasing.
I heard him heavily sighed. "Hon, let’s just go," he said which made me creased my forehead.
"Huh?"
Aren’t we going just now? He just smiled at me which poked my conscience. What the hell Erina! You’re such a brat. He’s going to introduce you to his parents already! Not all girls experience what you have right now! Don’t be such a b***h!
"Okay fine," I said which made him turned his head. "Let’s go inside," I smiled.
"We don't have to. We still have a lot of chances," he kissed my forehead then brought out his phone.
"What are you doing?"
"Calling my mom."
"Why?"
"Uh...to inform her we're not going?"
He looks at me like I’m the dumbest human being in this world. Kidding! But wait…. s**t! what if his family would hate me more if I bailed on them right now? They’d think I’m full of s**t!
"Wait!"
I stopped him to dial then took his phone. I breathed deeply then stared at him in the eye. He stared back at me with his confuse eyes.
"Okay let’s be clear first," I held his shoulders. "Promise me that if ever your parents do not like me for you, you would never break up with me.”
"What?"
"You’ve been saying ‘what’ for a while now. Just promise me!"
Ugh! This annoying jerk. I’m being serious here and there he goes, just laughing at my face like he’s having the best day of his life.
"Okay fine. I promise," he finally agreed.
"That’s a promise okay? As for me, I promise that even if they give me a house and lot with a car, I will never break up with you.”
"Sometimes…...sometimes I wonder where you get all your crazy ideas.”
He said which made me clicked my tongue. I breathe deeply again before pushing the horn. Wow, their gates are automatic, and I know that I should be amazed right now but all I feel is I’m going to my last destination. Is this the end of my pathetic life?
"Come on."
We both get off the car and a maid open the door for us. She smiled and greeted me, so I greeted her back.
"Oppa!"
I wasn’t done appreciating the aesthetic of their house when a smiling beautiful girl run down the stairs towards us.
"Careful!"
Silas admonished. I almost shouted too because the girl was running so swiftly that I thought she was in some marathon and is desperate to win. We almost run to her when she almost stumbled at the end of the grand staircase. When she went in front of us, I immediately recognized her as one of Silas's sister. She’s so pretty! Well, that’s not surprising because Silas is just out of this world. Their family might be full of model looking family members.
"I miss you," she tiptoed to kiss Silas' cheek. My boyfriend smiled widely then hug her little sister tightly. It is so obvious that they’re close, unlike me and Lara, my stepsister. Lara and I could literally kill each other while Silas and his sister looks affectionately to each other.
"Sorry baby. Oppa’s been busy lately."
"Yeah, I noticed."
His sister said then stared at me. I wouldn’t be surprised if this girl would become an actress or an idol in the future. Her dark black orbs stared at me innocently. She has a very cute small nose, and her long black hair is tied in a braid. She's almost as tall as me but she’s also skinny.
"Hi Unnie Erina, I'm Senna," she extended her hand while smiling widely. "It's nice to finally meet you."
My brain took long before I understand what she’s saying. I was shock that she knows who I am. Maybe she’s a fan? Kidding! Or maybe Silas has been telling stories. She’s his sister indeed. But the real question is, what kind of stories has he been telling his family? Did he talk s**t about me? did he tell them how incredibly noisy I am? Hayst, I was planning to pretend that I’m timid. Guess that plan is going downhill now.
"Hi Senna, you look lovely."
I extended my hand to meet hers. I felt a little at ease because Senna is kind.
We were about to go to the kitchen when another girl goes down the stairs. But this time, she’s walking with ease unlike Senna who’s running so swiftly a while ago. She looks exactly like Senna except her eyes are like Silas. She has gray colored eyes, and her hair is short. She's also wearing glasses and she’s holding a book in her right hand.
"Oppa," she kissed Silas in the cheek then glance at me. "I'm Sulli," she didn't hold out her hands, so I just smiled at her.
They are obviously twins because of their looks but It’s also obvious how their personalities differ so much. Senna's the bubbly type while Sulli was very timid.
Senna’s been blabbering things while we were walking towards the kitchen. She’s so talkative in a cute way while Sulli’s just smiling and nodding every time her twin asks her a question.
"Mom."
I immediately turn my gaze to the woman preparing the food in the dining table. She looks so radiant and she’s so hands on as she’s even wearing an apron while preparing the food of her family. She’s such a mother. And that’s a top-tier compliment.
"You're here!"
She excitedly exclaimed then removed her apron. She was smiling as she walked towards us then Hugged Silas tightly. She turns her gaze at me which immediately made me anxious again. She looks so kind but I’m still feeling the nerves. Just think of Silas as a point of comparison. He looks kind but even if I’m his girlfriend already he still has this snob attitude.
"You must be Erina?" she said then kissed my cheeks.
"Y-Yes m-ma’am?"
I look like a rock just standing there and staring at her. I was also scared to speak because I might say useless things because I’m a blabbermouth.
"You must be starving already. Let's eat?"
I still did not answer, and Silas pulled me to the dining table to finally have a seat. I wasn’t even recovered yet when a very intimidating and handsome man appeared. He kissed Silas' mom and the twins in the cheeks then sat at the center aisle of the long dining table. Silas’ mom sat beside him while Silas is in his other side. The twins sat beside their mother while I sat beside Silas.
"Hi, dad."
Oh s**t. Their dad looks very strict. But thankfully, he smiled at me warmly which stop me from losing my consciousness.
"Son, would you mind introducing the young lady?"
His dad looked at me then smiled. He looks exactly like Silas. I actually think I've seen him before but, I can't pinpoint where and when.
Before Silas can start speaking, I willed myself to speak first. I was thinking that maybe they thought I can’t speak because I haven’t spoken a word yet.
"Sir," I tried to keep a straight face. "I'm Erina Leila Castelo Lee. I don’t have any criminal record and I have really high grades when I was in high school.”
Did I say something wrong? I don’t think so. But why are they laughing? Are they laughing now then they would just kick me out of the house all of a sudden? You know what they say, calm before the storm.
"Ahhh, why are you all laughing?" I asked them seriously, but they could not even answer my question because they are just laughing their hearts out! "Sir, ma’am I’m quite serious. And believe me or not I did not use some magic or incantations to lure your son. I was about to actually but thankfully; he recognized my gorgeousness that I didn’t have to do extreme measures.”
"I actually think that my son was the one who used magic on you.”
