CHAPTER 9 - BURN IT ALL - SIRI'S POV

1131 Words
I hadn't spoken to my mates since yesterday. The Queen took me out for a private dinner, pleading with me to be patient with the twins, and that all Alpha's went a little over board with their heir, though she admitted to having doubts to the paternity too. She also assured me I didn't have to move rooms, but I told her I wanted to now. I was going to move to one near a private staircase that was meant to be used for emergencies. It was my plan to sneak my belongings out and hide them in the forest for my escape. A part of me felt guilty for sneaking away, so I told the Queen I wanted to leave and that I'd asked Brayton if I could live with him. She wasn't happy and begged me to stay, so I appeased her by saying I'd only go for a vacation after the Goddess festival, but in truth, I wasn't coming back. She agreed not to tell the twins, but made me promise to tell them before I left, and also asked that I take a guard with me. ''You're the future Queen after all,'' She's told me, ''We can't let you go away for a vacation without protection.'' Again, I agreed, but with no intention to follow through on this promise. I was currently in my room, openly packing now, but under the guise of moving rooms, and Colette had a smug expression every time I passed her in the hall. ''What are you doing?'' Kai shouted as he ran over to me in my new room. I was throwing things into the fireplace, ''Is that... Are these things we've given you?!'' ''What is wrong with you?!'' Zain shouted angrily, and grabbed my arms, ''Why are you being this way? Why are you making this so difficult? There is nothing between us and Colette, you have to stop lashing out and trying to get attention, just like with that whole rejection bullsh*t.'' ''I don't want your attention,'' I told them, without any emotions, ''And I was serious about the rejection. Besides, all of these things were moth eaten. I was just disposing of them, or would you want me to wear old clothes and have ruined items in my room?'' ''That's why you're burning all of this?'' Zain asked, ''Because it's ruined, and not because we gave you all of these things?'' ''You really think too much of yourself,'' I said in disgust, before turning away, and walking back to task. The twins looked around, but froze when they saw that everything they'd given me was in a box labeled trash. ''You really don't need this room,'' Zaid attempted to ease things between us. ''Why can't you just move into our bedrooms. We know you're upset, but we love you Siri.'' Colette came in, and looked around, ''How's the move going?'' ''Get out of my room,'' I ordered, but the twins shook their head at me. ''You already got what you wanted, you really don't need to pretend anymore.'' ''Siri, don't be so cruel,'' Zain said quickly, ''She was just asking a question, she wasn't being mean. The room swap was mine and Kai's idea. Stop taking things out on Colette, it's not her fault that she got pregnant,'' ''Yeah right,'' I rolled my eyes, and returned to packing, ''You two are meant to be Alpha's. How can you be so stupid and naive. If she was going through her heat, which I really doubt, then she chose you two on purpose. She's wanted you both for years.'' ''I understand this is hard for you, but don't make accusations like that.'' Kai ordered. ''Whatever, leave my room.'' I waved my hand. ''Oop's.'' Colette said, and I heard something hit the ground and smash. I spun around to see a porcelain unicorn the twins had given me for my shifting ceremony hit the ground and smashed everywhere. But I just smiled and shrugged, before pointing at the broom. ''Clean that up before you go.'' I told her, and I could see it in her face that she was upset by my nonchalant response. ''Don't worry,'' Zain said quickly, ''We'll get you a new one. Colette didn't mean it, right?'' ''Of course not.'' She said quickly. ''Don't worry about it,'' I said as I threw another of their gifts in the fire, ''It's just a trinket. Can you all leave please, I'm trying to declutter and Colette's natural scent is making me sick.'' She looked hurt and rushed towards the door. ''Excuse me!'' I called out, and she paused, ''You forgot to clean up.'' She gave an angry growl and stomped away. ''It's just the hormones,'' Kai told me, defending her. ''I'll clean it up.'' Zain told me. ''No need,'' I turned back, ''I can do it. Your scents are making me sick too. I'd rather you left.'' ''You really are acting like a spoiled brat.'' Kai commented and left me room, shortly followed by Zain, who ended up cleaning the mess anyway. ''If you'd just talk to us, you'd realize how sorry we really are for hurting you.'' He said in the doorway. ''Do you think this is how we wanted a child? We hate that Colettes is the mother of our heir.'' ''Well don't worry, because she's not.'' ''And if you're right?'' He asked, ''Will us having our hearts broken make you feel better? Will you care then?'' ''Maybe,'' I admitted, ''You don't seem to care that you've broken my heart. Why should I care about yours?'' He gave me a pained expression before leaving, and I went back to cleaning and emptying my life of anything that held a memory of the twins. When I picked up a photo album of our smiling happy faces, I hesitated, ''Am I acting like a brat?'' I asked Ada, ''Am I over reacting?'' ''If they were acting like mates I'd say yes, but they're not.'' She told me, ''They keep defending her, keep taking her side. Screw them.'' ''You've changed tunes.'' ''I feel a little different since you rejected them.'' She told me, ''I'm thinking clearer now. I know we're not meant to be with men like them. They said they loved us their whole lives but still slept with other women. They said we were going to be their mates, but where were they when we came of age? They were f*cking Colette. If they truly cared, they'd never have left our side that night. I don't want them anymore. I hate them.'' ''I do to.'' I agreed, ''We wasted our whole life on this stupid crush. We deserve a better mate. One who will love us. One who will be loyal. There is no going back now. We're leaving!''
