Chapter 3 - It Is Still You But I Am Married

2579 Words
ANIKKA: "I DON'T CARE, Vitto! Just don't meddle with my life!" I glared at my husband in annoyance. He saw me drinking at his mini bar in his mansion. And now, here he is bothering me. In our two years of marriage, there was not a day that we did not have an argument. It's not just shouting that fills this mansion. Even my begging for him to release me from his hands every time he hurts me. The maids turned a deaf ear to my sobs and pleaded for help for fear that they might be implicated with my husband's madness. I'm fed up with this life! If he kills me, I will be grateful. But I thought, I can't get out of his hands if I'm dead. I need to be strong. "You are my wife! Your life depends on me, Anikka," he said firmly. I rolled my eyes in annoyance. "Don't call me your wife! You never act as my husband." "I am your husband until you pay the debt of your family." "I'm not forgetting that, Vitto. I'll be free from you soon— Uhh!" I cried out in pain when he violently pulled my hair. I was currently looking up at him as I was sitting and he was standing. "Are you kidding? Should I laugh now, my beautiful wife?" I saw his evil eyes. Honestly, I'm so afraid of being hurt by him. But I don't want to show up and pretend that I love him. He doesn't love me either. His parents just like me so he married me. He doesn't want to disappoint his parents. "Let me go!" I yelled. A devilish grin came out of his smile and let go of my hair. I can feel the pain in my scalp because of what he did. "If that's the case. Then let me use you tonight." After he said that, he quickly grabbed both of my arms and pressed my back against the sink. He slowly bent down to kiss me but I immediately avoided myself. "N-No…" He didn't listen. He lowered his face to my neck and started running his lips there. "Please no, V-Vitto." The accented sob escaped me in fear that he might force me to have s*x with him. But as always happens, he let go of me and quickly slapped me. "Useless wife!" Then he left in front of me and furiously kicked every path as he walked away from me. I caught my breath when he completely disappeared from my sight. In the two years Vitto and I were together, I never once let him use my body for his lust. Maybe that's why it took me so long to be with him because every time he sees tears in my eyes, he folds. He hurts me physically but he doesn't force me to have s*x with him even though he has the right to do that with me. Even so, my fear still doesn't disappear every time he tries to use me because he might continue and I can't do anything but give in. I don't want anything to happen to us even though we are both married. I don't want him to tarnish our memory of the man I had my first experience with. It's been two years and I'm still saving myself for him... THE NEXT MORNING…. "What are you doing here?" My eyes widened in surprise at the sudden opening of the door and it spat out my cousin Kaye. In two years, this is the first time I saw her in person again. I don't know what to say. My throat was dry. But I missed her. I missed her so much. How did she get here? How did she find this house? How did she get in? "Don't you miss me? Where's your husband? Let me see him." She asked seriously. I was so nervous. Kaye knows what kind of demon my husband is. But I don't know what is the reason for her coming here and why is she looking for my husband? I didn't want to get into trouble, so I shook my head one after another. I looked around and Vitto was not here. At this time he is currently in his office while I am here now in the living room of the mansion. I took a deep breath and spoke. "N-No… he is not here right now," I lied. "Why are you here? How did you get it? What's into you, Kaye?!" I asked numerous questions because I was so nervous. I don't want Vitto to catch her because I'm not sure what will happen to her when my husband sees her. "Who's that, Anikka?" I closed my eyes in annoyance when I heard Vitto's voice behind me. "Really, Anikka?" Kaye is being sarcastic right now. I walked up to my cousin and grabbed her arm. We confronted Vitto, and yes. I am scared. "T-This is Kaye, my cousin," I introduced Kaye to him. He didn't listen to me. Instead, his attention went straight to Kaye. "Who gave you the permission to enter my house? Should you go out or I'll just shoot your head instead?" My eyes widened. "Vitto!" "I'm just asking, my wife." My husband laughed. Still, I felt that Kaye was unmoved and raised an eyebrow at Vitto. "I'm here to ask for your permission, Mr. Rousey." "Permission for what?" I was about to stop Kaye from talking to my demon husband when she pinched me a little to say that she could handle such a situation and I should just keep quiet. "What you are doing to my cousin is spreading in our family." "Kaye..." Vitto laughed sarcastically. "Really?" After that he turned to look at me. I automatically backed off. "She's not the one who told us. I know you are informed that she has an eye. Her parents can't do anything to sue you and even me. And I know you know that." "Then why are you here?" Kaye crossed her arms and looked straight to my husband. "Do you want to save your wife's reputation and yours? I know that your grandfather didn't know what you were doing in my cousin's life. So if you don't want this mess to spread, I am asking for your permission to let her go with me to the Philippines to rest." "And what will happen if I agree?" "I will bring her back here. So don't worry about that. And for your benefit if you agree, that will be a good shot to your image since you let your wife enjoy her life." I want to admire the intensity of Kaye's confidence to talk to and manipulate Vitto. Vitto is powerful. He has all the connections. He can kill without being put in jail. He can kill without mercy. He can make our lives miserable. He is a great manipulator. But Kaye seems to have manipulated him just now. Vitto kept quiet. "A month will do." After that he looked at me intently. "And Anikka..." "What?" He smirked. "Don't make me mad. You know what I can do." After that he turned his back on Kaye and me. "FOR SURE, your family misses you so much." That same night, Kaye and I left Australia to go to the Philippines. My heart is overflowing with joy because in two years I will be free from Vitto's hands again. I don't know what kind of manipulation Kaye did. She just talked to Vitto. I didn't know that my husband would agree to such a quick situation. However, I am very happy. Finally, I can rest from the wickedness of my husband. We are currently on board Vitto's private plane. Yes. He let us use his personal property just to see if Kaye was stating the truth and did not use that trick to help me escape. "Thanks for helping me, Kaye," I said emotionally. "Tsk. Sorry, it took me two years to find the time to face your husband. He's merciless! I know his background." I held my breath. I don't think anyone knows how bad my husband is in my family. "It's good that you weren't scared to face him." She turned her gaze to me. "What's not? I almost passed out while talking to him." "I don't feel it. You looked powerful." "If you only knew, I was shaking earlier." I hugged her arm. "Thank you." Kaye tapped her shoulder and leaned my head on. "That's nothing. Get some sleep and it's still a long flight." "Kaye, where are we going? Why do we need to ride a yacht?" I asked her in surprise because I thought the car we used would go straight to my parents' house. But no… We are now in front of a vast ocean and a large yacht. I saw Kaye take something out of her bag and show it to me. "Tadah!" "What the heck!" It's an invitation and it's familiar to me... I will never forget that invitation card. "Yes. I got an invitation and that means, we'll spend your month there on the Island of Hell." My eyes widened in shock but I immediately ruined my cousin's happiness. "I can't be there anymore, Kaye. I'm married," I told her. Even though I don't love Vitto, I don't want to be a sinful wife. And I know what's on the Island of Hell. "Who told you that you were going to cheat on your husband? Hello? You can enjoy there without being f****d. Unless—" I didn't let her finish speaking. "Shut up. I don't want to be a sinner." "Then prove that to me, my dear cousin." I could do nothing but follow her on board the yacht. Is he still there? IT TOOK us one hour until we reached the shore of the island. Familiar buildings greeted me and I never forgot. I was hugged by a cold breeze that I immediately felt. It's good to be back... I missed this place... I missed the people here... I missed— "Cierro!" I was surprised when Kaye was next to me and screamed. I looked at what she was calling. Many men were waiting for our landing. That's more than five but less than ten. When we got off the yacht, we were greeted by men. "Hi, Kaye. I'll help you with your things. I am with my friends," said the man named Cierro. "Welcome to the Island of Hell," greeted one of the men. "Hi. Thanks for welcoming us!" my cousin said enthusiastically. "Cierro, please introduce us to your girlfriend's friend." I looked at the man who spoke. Of course, he's hot. But not my type. Although, I don't have the right to look at a man of my type anymore because I'm married. Kaye spoke quickly. "Ah, no! I'm n-not Cierro's girl." Then turn to me. "She's not my friend either. She's Anikka, my cousin." "Oh, she's gorgeous." Kaye nodded. "Yes. And she's taken." The boys seemed disappointed when Kaye said that. In the end, they still helped us carry our stuff until we got inside the lobby of the hotel where we were going to stay. This is still the hotel where we checked in before. Two years have passed but nothing has changed in the hotel. Still beautiful. After a while, I heard my phone ring. I immediately took it and looked to see who was calling. I closed my eyes in annoyance when I saw that it was Vitto. I walked away from my companions and answered the call. "What now, Vitto?!" I asked angrily. "Where are you now?" "Come on. I am in the Philippines to rest. Please don't disturb me!" I yelled at him over the phone. "Calling my wife is the husband's responsibility. I'm checking on you." Then it laughed loudly. Not only that, I even heard the laughter of two women on the other line. I squealed in annoyance. I just left Australia, he immediately brought women to the mansion. He can be with another woman but I'm not allowed to be with a man aside from him. That's unfair. But I can't do anything. "Cheater!" After saying that, I hung up the call. I even turned off my phone so he couldn't call me. "Is that your husband? Gosh! What else does he need?" I was no longer shocked by Kaye's presence. I shrugged my shoulders. "I don't know. Go to the room first. I'll just have coffee and I'll follow you there." "Okay." I calmed down for a while in front of the ocean before deciding to enter the lobby again. But because I can walk bent over. I didn't realize that I had met someone. It's too late to avoid because I've crashed. "Oh, sorry!" I quickly looked up. And my eyes widened at what I saw. "T-Trevor…" He smiled when he saw me. "It's been two years, Anikka." I looked all over him. He became more handsome over time. I didn't know that he would be more handsome after two years. And I was happy to see him again. That's it. Yes. I missed him but that was it. I'm already married so I can't be friends with him anymore. I saw that he was carrying two plastic bags with snacks and drinks. "Need help?" I offered help just like how he offered his help before when I needed someone to help me carry my things. Trevor's smile grew wider. "Yes. Can you help me?" "Single?" I asked. "Waiting for someone." My heart ached a little but if he is happy with that, then I should be happy too. After all, I have nothing to wish for but his happiness. "How about you?" I took a deep breath before speaking. "I'm married." There was a moment of silence between the two of us. I just let it go because we just met again. Glady, he broke the silence after a while. "Do you want to have dinner with me?" I looked into Trevor's eyes when he asked that. Dinner… The unforgettable dinner with him. When I was single, I agreed to have dinner with him. Now, it should not happen anymore. Because I know all his dinner dates end up in bed. So, I made a decision. "Sorry. I have to go upstairs. Kaye is waiting for me." I was about to turn away when he suddenly spoke so I was stunned. "You said you'll help me?" No… Please, Trevor. no… It's not good. I don't want to be a sinner wife. Yes, I missed Trevor. God knows how much I want to be with him right now. But this is wrong. It is wrong to miss him. It is wrong that our paths crossed again. We talked again and that's wrong. I took a deep breath and looked at him. I saw sadness in his eyes but I had to decline that sadness. "I just came here from Australia. I need to take some rest. Sorry for taking my words back." I didn't wait for him to speak. After that, I quickly turned and walked away. Even before I was completely away from Trevor, I heard him speak. And those words pierced my heart… "I've been waiting for you for so long, Anikka. Then here you are… leaving me again like you did two years ago."
