The Chance Encounter
Luna never expected to crash into him—literally. Her backpack swung too far, and her books tumbled across the café floor, one landing squarely on his foot.
“Ah! Sorry! Ang clumsy ko talaga,” she gasped, crouching to pick them up, hoping she wasn’t making the biggest fool of herself.
He laughed, a warm, low sound na parang music sa tenga niya. “It’s okay… really. Accidents happen.”
Luna noticed the way his dark hair fell into his eyes, the faint smirk playing on his lips. Bakit parang may magic sa smile niya? she thought, heart fluttering in a way she didn’t expect.
The rain tapped on the windows, the smell of freshly brewed coffee mixing with warm pastries. She usually liked her life simple, predictable—but today, chaos seemed to have other plans.
As she handed him the last book, their fingers brushed. Just a small touch, pero parang electric shock.
“Maybe I should—uh, buy you a coffee to make up for it,” she muttered, cheeks red.
“No need,” he said, grinning. “Pero kung gusto mo, okay lang din.”
And just like that, Luna felt something stir inside her—a strange mixture of embarrassment and excitement. She didn’t even know his name yet, but she had a feeling she’d see him again.
