Throne of Moonfire

By [The Omniarch]

They stole her crown. Marked her as a slave. Trapped her in silk and darkness. But they did not remember one thing, fire does not die in darkness. It adapts to burn in silence.

Seraphyne is human born. Or at least they think so. When the cold clutches of the vampire king, Valerius, draw her into a world of blood-soaked thrones and forbidden lust, she learns the truth: her bloodlines predate empires, her powers past prophecy.

He desires to claim her.

She has plans to kill him.

Imprisoned in excess, hunted by werewolves, sought by monsters, and tormented by a forgotten moon goddess, Seraphyne must choose: be the gem of an oppressive empire… or the spark that will set the flames to consume it to dust.

In a world where love is twisted, freedom is a myth, and power comes at a horrific price, only one thing remains constant:

You don't catch a storm. You ride it out.

Prelude
Long before time was etched into the memory of stone or star, when the cosmos itself was a nascent, breathing entity, a silent collision of starlight and shadow birthed the First Races. They were ancient, these progenitors, their spirits wild, their forms etched with the primal hungers of a world still raw and untamed. In those forgotten epochs, when only mad gods bore witness, the First Races were "full of teeth", and with their terrible power, they seized the nascent world, shaping it with blood and bone, inscribing their savage laws upon the very fabric of existence in whispers and scars. Yet, the cosmos, in its infinite and often cruel wisdom, rarely allows the dominion of any single power to remain unchallenged. The twin moons, those silent, luminous watchers, conspired with fate, fostering a gift of incandescent, untamable fire not upon the hands of gods or beasts, but from the fragile dust of the mortal coil. A new bloodline was birthed, marked by this celestial flame – the Moonfire. It danced to rhythms alien to the old order, its brilliance a defiance that terrified those who had long mastered the brutal game of existence. As all ancient powers do when faced with a light they cannot comprehend or control, the First Races sought to extinguish it. They hunted the Moonfire, burying its lineage deep beneath layers of spilled blood and carefully constructed lies, hoping to erase its memory from the world. Most, in time, forgot. Some, however, remembered, nursing the embers of a truth too potent to die. But that which is elemental cannot be forever interred. The fire from the moons, patient and eternal, always finds its way back to the world of the living, seeking a vessel, a will, a heart to set ablaze. Now, a solitary girl wanders the precipice of that long-suppressed conflagration. Some whisper she was chosen by fate's relentless hand; others, that she was forged in the crucible of suffering and prophecy. Perhaps both are true, or neither matters more than the truth of what she carries. Within her veins hums the ancient, the luminous, and the profoundly dangerous legacy of the Moonfire – a power that is both her birthright and her curse, her brightest hope and her most terrifying shadow. And if this buried fire, this forgotten blood, now truly stirs, yearning to reclaim its place in a world grown dark under ancient law, then god and king, ancient beast and ageless shadow alike, have cause to tremble. For the old scars of the world are about to burn anew.
