Chapter 3 After witnessing the shadow of something strange on his way to bed, Jonathan figured it would take forever to fall asleep. Luckily, that wasn't the case. As soon as his head nestled into the pillow, his eyes fluttered closed and he was out. He didn't even feel himself losing consciousness. One second he was awake, the next he was in Slumberland. It was really that easy. He woke with a start to a crashing sound somewhere in the apartment. The noise was so jarring he went from flat on his back to upright in bed before he'd even realized he was awake. He heard himself gasp. In his head, he asked, “What was that? What was that?
