---------- Carter's POV --------------

Mae came to meet me today, I don't know what could be the reason, may be she need Rain back that's what Xav told me on call, I was waiting for her but then a girl came in room. I didn't knew her nor did I ever saw her before, she came and sat on my lap. I was shocked by her move and threw her across the room to the wall. I growled to her in highest pitch, and she flinched at it but then got up cleaned her crease over her clothes and gave me a lustful smile. She said that she is the same waitress from the bar and came all the way from other pack to here just to meet me. I was about to kill her for what she did as it costed me not just money but my mate too. Mae did left me because of her, not like Mae ever wanted to come back but her wolf too left her which increased her anger over me.. Now,  Mae never wants me back because of this girl. I gave her the look but she started striping her clothes and told me to come near her on couch and have some fun. My anger was at the level, then I heard a knock at door , to my most terror it was Mae. I gone pale after hearing she was on the door. I told her not to come inside and told that girl to leave before I'll kill her limp to limp. I was so angry that time that when Mae came inside and started yelling at me about "I can't talk to her badmouth" I got frustrated and shouted back at her about she means nothing to me. She treated us as trash and now she wanted a help so she should at least ask nicely, But I got angry and yelled back at her. After they both left I was sitting alone in my room and mind linked my beta to capture that bartender and keep her in dungeon  and update me as soon as it's done. He did the same and it took him 15 minutes to finish the task. 

I leaned back at the chair and Storm started whimpering about how I treated Mae.

Storm : I know Carter you are hurt about how she treated us in past few months but you should've stayed calm on her and not to burst your anger over her. 

Carter : She gave me no choice, I told her to wait outside but no she came inside the room, I never wanna hurt her but, she again judged us wrong that I called that lady and was having fun with her. How could she always judge us and think that it would be fine to behave whatever she wanna behave like with us.

Storm : She is mate. 

Carter : No she isn't, all she ever wished was that we should leave her and that's what I'm now doing to her. She can stay happy with whoever she want to, it's no mate bond left in us and we can also chose anyone now. 

Storm : Then why did it took you 8 months and still single, why are you still waiting for her love ??

Carter : Because I do love only her and I can never think of any other girl around me. She is all I need and all I want, but  she never want me and I'm happy with fulfilling her wishes even if it means that we have no luna and no heir of our throne. I'll chose an orphan to be my heir when time will come. Till then we have to manage it this way.

 Storm : May be,  you are right. She never wanted us and now that the mate bond is lost she would never want us. 

Carter : Believe me bud I would never let her suffer anymore even if it means to stay away from her. 

Storm : Okay.

--------------------------- 2 week later -----------------------------------------

After giving tones of resumes and interview in human town Mae finally got a job as a receptionist in the Red Wing Co. One of the leading business company in entire North America. As she filled the 2 year working contract with the company. She was happy to have the job and told Xav and Mia about it. They all celebrated it and from the date of joining her life got upside down

-------------------- Next Day ----------------------

   Mae reached the office at 8 am as told her to report. She met Lukas (P.A.of the CEO). Lukas appointed her and asked her to report at 8 am every  morning. It was a shift of 8am to 7pm (11 hour shift). The pay was justified as the timing of 30,000$ per month. Which was more than enough for her, Mae decided never to leave the job as its the best she could get. She got inside the office and met the first person in office, Kelly, (He was a gay and engaged to Antony, Computer engineer of the same office). Kelly greated her.

Mae : Hello, Sir, Excuse me.

Kelly : Hey, Good morning miss. May I help you ? 

Ma : Yes, I'm Mae got appointed here yesterday as a receptionist by Mr. Lukas Brad asked me to meet him in the morning. Can you please help me to find him ?

Kelly : Oh sweetheart, that's easiest tak to do, Lukas is Personal Assistant of our CEO, Mr. Grey, you'll find Mr. Lukas in his office or in CEO office. Third room over the left on second floor. 

( Mae, On the name of Mr. Grey she skipped a beat as she thought it could be Carter Grey but then she cut those thought and listened to the instructions of Kelly. Following the instructions of Kelly she soon reached the office of Lukas and knocked there, when no one answered she tried looking here and there, and she got a glimpse of him through glass door in other room standing and talking to someone, she thought to wait in his room but it would be a bad impression if she'll meet him late on the first day, thinking about it she walked towards the door of other room. After reaching she knocked at the door and a familiar voice told her to come in. She gone inside room and skipped a beat after looking at the voice.)

 Mae : Umm, sir... Mr. Lukas.. I.. I came.. I'm... 

Lukas : Easy dear, why are you fumbling ? 

Mae : Nothing ... Nothing sir, I'll wait out.. Sorry. 

Lukas : Hey, wait. Meet your boss Mr. Carter Grey. 

Carter : Hello (He offered his hand out for shaking to Mae, which she took, trembling on her knees, she shook hand to him.) 

Lukas : Sir, this is our new receptionist Ms. Katie Mae. (He kept a hand around Mae's shoulder while introducing them both, to which Carter gave a low growl to Lukas. Mae was shocked with the growl for two reason : First : He growled in front of a human. Second : He growled being jealous and possessive when any other male touched her.)

Lukas : Carter, no growling in the office you'll scare our new employee. (With the words OUR EMPLOYEE Carter gave another growl to him)

Carter : MINE.

Lukas : Okay, she is your, I'm already happily married for 6 years and have 2 kids, I don't need your girl. 

(Mae was confused about what is going on and she gave a suspicious look to both of them) 

Lukas : Oh yes! I do know that he is an Alpha and he is my best friend too, that's the reason I'm allowed to call him by name. And now I think you are Katie Mae his mate he talks about you whenever he is drunk, upset, happy, gets a new deal and talks to your photos in his phone. 

Carter (Looking embarrassed with the realization and words of Lukas, looked towards his feet, getting back to his rude tone he spoke) : That's a lot of information you should provide to anyone. Now Ms. Mae you can leave.

Mae : Carter I......

Carter : Back in pack house I told you that's Alpha Carter for you and here you will address me as Sir. M'I clear to you Ms. Mae ? 

Mae (Hurt and embarrassed by his tone and words she nodded) : Yes Sir. 

(With that she left the room and waited in Lukas 's office.. Soon Lukas came to his office and Mae again greeted him good morning)  

Mae : Good morning sir. 

Lukas : Hey, that's okay dear. I'm sorry for his behaviour over there. He is being rude to everyone since last few months. He never told the reason to anyone. He was rude since always but not this much, it feels like we are dealing with an iceberg now. Well, moving on towards your work (Handing over a file to her) here are your papers and towards the hall in the right is your desk. You can settle down there and ask a peon to assist you with whatever you need in stationeries and things. After finishing with that you can start working with the files there. You can come to me anytime you want. Is that okay ? 

Mae : Yes, sir. 

Lukas : Okay. Get to work now please. 

(Mae  reached to her desk thinking about whatever happened inside Carter's office and how he got possessive when Lukas touched her shoulder and gone cold as ice while speaking. She couldn't understand whatever is going on here and prayed to moon goddess that these two years in job will be easy and she never have to face Carter again and she can only deal with Lukas. With that she started her first day of job. Which gone quite well without any further problems.)
