“How about we make use of Paige Hall for the wedding?” Amelia who was seated in the side of Naya’s bed asked her Naya pretended not to hear her mother speak to her and ignored her, tapping away on her phone and hoping she would go away. This was already the worst way she imagined getting married and everyone seemed to be making things worse by being fine with it ‘Heck, they even had the audacity to make plans’ she thought “Okay, so Paige Hall is out of it” Amelia said canceling out something from the book she was holding “How about a garden wedding” she asked again “No” Naya said simply without looking at her mother for once “No?” Amelia asked. She thought they were on the same page now, she has used a whole week to convince Naya that this decision was in her favour and isn’t as bad as she thought it was but it seemed she hadn’t done enough seeing as Naya still wasn’t interested in the marriage “That’s what I said, mother” Naya said, eyes finally meeting her mother’s “You already forced me into this, leaving me with no choice if I wanted to take over Belmont and now, you’re planning a big wedding? You’re planning a wedding for me with someone I have never met or had a conversation with? Let’s be for real” Naya said, trying not to have an outburst “I do not want a wedding, I would only agree to a court wedding with two witnesses because I need proof, just in case you both have some other trick up your sleeves in the future” Naya said “And we would not be revisiting this topic” she finished off and continued on her phone like it was nothing “Not even dress shopping?” Her mother asked in a low voice “Not even dress shopping” she answered and started to get comfortable in her bed, giving her mother the signal to leave her room Later that evening, she had dinner with her parents and brother. The table was silent and only the noise from her plate could be heard as she stabbed the potatoes on her plates with her fork “I met with Elias Everett today” Denzel said, breaking the silence. Naya didn’t seem to be bothered as she just continued eating like she didn’t hear what he just said “We picked a date at the court for next Wednesday” he continued This time, Naya stopped her fork right into the potato and stood up from the table, heading to her room She had so many thoughts running through her mind as she walked away, she couldn’t believe this was actually happening. What would happen if she walked away from becoming the heir, would she have to still go through with this? When she got to her room, she had a quick shower and slept immediately, she didn’t want to think about it anymore and she had no tears left to cry
