Pregnant

Adessa Pov My eyes flutter open, the ceiling above me too white, too bright. For a second I had thought I was in heaven already. But heaven wasn't supposed to hurt. That was when it hit me, the smell… I was in the hospital. Looking around I could see my family sitting around not actually concerned. I guess they came here for their reputation. My throat burned, like I had swallowed glass. Even speaking felt like breaking something inside of me. The door creaked open, and a nurse walked in with a smile on her face. “Oh good you're awake”. She walked closer flipping through a chart. “You're stable now, luckily the impact from the accident didn't affect the baby” “Ba.. Baby? What baby?” I asked in hope that I heard wrong. I couldn't possibly be pregnant. We had only done it once and we were careful. “You're pregnant, about eight weeks gone” Preg.. The word didn't just land, it echoed loudly and suffocated like something was on my chest. I was pregnant… Eight weeks… “you're such a disgrace to this family, since I brought you back you've been nothing but bad news”. “Why can't you be like your sister?” My mum added. They didn't care about me, all they cared for was their reputation. “Please I need a phone, lend me a phone please “ I pleaded. “One last thing you're removing that bastard and leaving this country” “But–” “You have nothing to say, you're leaving and it's finally” “You're an embarrassment” My mother spat out her tone laced with disgust. “Father, mother please can you guys leave the room? I want to talk to my sister, it seems she is not in the right mind now.” Ella asked with a smile. To my parents she was the perfect daughter. While I was the mistake they didn't plan on creating. They left, not even taking a glance at me. Leaving me and Ella alone. “I warned you sister you're not accepted here you should have left when I told you” She said smiling like this was a game she had won already. "You can pretend all you want but he's not coming and how foolish of you to believe he loved you, the great Adrian Peterson doesn't do love you, bye sister". She left and I was left in silence, I rubbed my hand against my stomach trying to feel the baby. I was pregnant for him. I tried calling him, once.. Twice no response. I could only record a voicemail hoping he played it. “Hi” I pressed the phone close to my ear , clinging to it. “I have something to say”I took a deep breath mustering all the courage I had. “I'm pregnant. For you, I'm still at the hospital. You can come if you want Please” The please was barely audible. I let out the breath I realized I was holding, sending the voice mail. If I had any choice I wouldn't message him but I was left alone in this world my parents had abandoned me, made up their mind to throw me out. "Baby I'm sorry, forgive mummy" I burst out crying, from my mistakes, past and Him. Maybe they were right… And the worst part wasn't them leaving. It was realising I had nowhere to go or someone to turn to. I was in denial, in fear of what to do next and maybe a little spot of hope of maybe he might come to my saving.
