It’s really hard not to feel smug about how Nylion was treated by the other royals. I saw the sympathetic looks from the royals, but I only cared about the ones from the group siding with the dragons. I’ve always liked King Yhendorn and Princess Merethyl. I’d heard about what happened to them. Everyone did. Their troupe was attacked by human hunters and scientists, their parents were murdered and the two of them, along with all their surviving troupe members, were taken for experimentation.
Somehow, even after all of that, they emerged with more humanity than elves like Nylion and Merellien.
I think there was a time when my mother was hoping that I could win the favor of then Prince Yhendorn and become his queen. But honestly,
